O.M.G. What a wonderful place to get ice cream!! It’s a cute set up in a little camper trailer.
They have soft serve and hard ice cream and if you get a double or triple you can easily mix it!
Tiny cone runs you $4, single $5.50, double $6.75 and triple is $8.
3 of us got the lovely lemon square mixed with either raspberry, wild blueberry and salted caramel. Hubby got the vegan chocolate coconut and mixed berries.
All were super good! Hubby commented it’s one of the best ice creams he’s had. And that is a big compliment as he is not into sweets. I tried a lick of his chocolate and it was really flavourful and not too sweet!
Only “complaint” is it melts fast and leaks! So can get messy! The waffle cones aren’t rolled too well as they have a bit of a hole at the bottom. When I got to the bottom of the ice cream I noticed a small marshmallow at the bottom to block the hole I guess but didn’t work too well.
Wrapping the napkin around the bottom of the cone helped a bit until the napkin got soaked.
So we all got ice cream dropped onto our clothes, shoes or the sidewalk! Lol
Another complaint is we discovered this the day before we leave courtenay. So will have to wait until next year to visit again.
Note: they are...
Read moreA sweet little gem that’s totally worth the detour! Love’s Ice Cream in Cumberland is well-known across the surrounding towns—and now I know why.
When we arrived, there was just a short line (less than 10 minutes), and it moved quickly. Prices are very reasonable for the quality.
We tried the Wild Blueberry and Sweet & Sour Cherry—both were absolutely delicious. You can really taste the freshness of the fruit, and the flavors were vibrant without being overly sweet. My girlfriend said it was the best ice cream she’s had in a long time. I usually go for the creamier styles, but these still hit the mark in a really satisfying way. While we were there, we even saw a few people coming back for second rounds—always a good sign!
The only small downside was the waffle cone—it was a bit harder and sweeter than I prefer. But overall, the experience was fantastic.
Highly recommend stopping by if you’re anywhere near the area. We’ll...
Read moreI cannot describe the joy of this place. Firstly, the people are wonderful and warm. They were helpful with deciding which of the delicious flavours we had to try, and they were just all-around happy and kind people. Now to the ice cream. Just wow. We tried a few different swirls and the coconut chocolate, and we were blown away. The fresh frozen fruit plus vanilla was tangy and delicious, but the star for me was the Okanagan cherries in the coconut swirl. The coconut ice cream, which I usually find quite icy, was rich and creamy in the best way possible. It paired superbly with the cherries. I cannot wait to go back and try more flavours! A must-go if you are in the area. My hat is off...
