This is the only Starbucks in Ladner and I'm thankful for it's existence in our community. I've gotten to know the staff over the years and they are really quite friendly, so because of that I'm inclined to want to give this location a higher rating than it deserves. But I believe in truth so here it is.... It's busy and often S-L-O-W . Busy is a good thing. As a business person I appreciate Success BUT it's inefficient. Often there will be a line to the door with only one cash open. They should at least have one taking orders, one pouring drip and another pulling shots if they cant open the 2nd register. It's not the cleanest. I have many times had to ask for a towel so I can wipe down my own table. It's no big deal but it is consistent. Even now as I write this, I have to go to the wash room to wash my hands because they got sticky from table upon which I'm resting my hands as I type this. It's not comfortable. It's not a large location so I get that it is primarily furnished with small stiff straight back school like chairs that dont take a lot of space. There are only 4 armchairs in the whole place and are grouped together at the north end of the store. You can come in at any hour and on any day and those four chairs are almost always occupied by the same 3 or 4 people, two of which never order anything and just loiter around talking with the other two. I appreciate Starbucks' generosity with free refills and lenient policy towards patronage, but it's simply a matter of respect, if you're not ordering dont hog the space and Management, be aware that you are losing sales to these 4 individuals..... I'd come more often and order a lot more if I knew I had a fighting chance at getting one of those chairs. You can read other reviews on other sites posted by different reviewers who have made similar comments about these 4 .... enough said.
Aside from that, the coffee is always fresh and the staff are genuinely friendly .... so I do visit several times a week for a grab and go .... rarely do I stay in the store for the reasons...
Read moreThis is my hometown and sadly the slowest Starbucks I know of. I come here once or twice a month for drink on a weekend afternoon and regularly wait over 10 minutes for my basic drink. Today at 2:52, mom and I ordered our iced coffees. Despite there being no line ahead of us, we waited over 10 minutes to receive our drinks. We asked if there was a decaf on its way 15 minutes after ordering, and they had simply forgotten to start it. I've worked at Starbucks, I know that mistakes are made, but when there's 4 (edit: 5) people behind the counter, there's no acknowledgement of the inconvenience, this is a regular occurrence, and receiving your drink in under 5 minutes at most locations is no problem, it's time to write a review about this one.
Edit: first time back in a month. We made two orders. One came in 5 minutes. After asking about the other 10 minutes after ordering they said "we'll get right on that." 20 minutes after ordering the drink, we asked for a refund. This is comically bad.
Edit: October 21 and enjoying our 20 minute drink. It's part of the experience at this...
Read moreThis is the only Starbucks location in Ladner, and I love it for several reasons. It has long hours, opening early and staying open late, which is perfect for someone like me who enjoys a warm cup of coffee or tea in the afternoons and evenings. There’s plenty of free parking in the plaza, seating is usually available, and the store is well-maintained. The baristas are always friendly and welcoming, which adds to the experience.
I also appreciate that they participate in special yearly events, like Red Cup Day, and are part of the Starbucks Stars program. Plus, they always have fun merchandise in stock!
That said, because this is the only Starbucks in the area, it can get quite busy at peak times, which may lead to longer wait times for orders. If you’re planning to stay and work, read, or study, be aware that it can get a bit noisy, especially when families with kids are around. Pricing is on the higher side, but as with any Starbucks, that’s determined by the main company.
Overall, it’s a great location with friendly service, a good atmosphere, and all the classic...
