We went to Stacked for our lunch break with a group of 7. We didn’t call ahead but the restaurant wasn’t that busy and they confirmed they could accommodate us. We waited outside for a few minutes while they prepared our table, and when they were ready, we entered, at the same time as a couple was coming in. We were seated, and our server said she would be back. The table surface was filthy and sticky and we couldn’t get anyone’s attention to come and clean it, so we ended up grabbing the cleaning rag from the host stand and cleaning it ourselves. We waited approximately 10 minutes at the table before anyone came. We were asked for our drink orders but hadn’t even received menus yet, so we all just ordered water and asked for menus. We waited another 5 or 6 minutes and the server returned with menus. We took about 5 minutes to decide what we wanted, our waters arrived while we were deciding and the server left again before asking if we were ready to order. We did not see her again for 45 MINUTES. We flagged down two other servers during this time to express that our lunch break was coming to an end and no one had even taken our orders. They just assured us our server would be coming by soon. Our server could be seen in the back leaning and looking at her phone, taking washroom breaks and chatting. The couple we came in with had eaten their food, paid and left. We ended up leaving after an hour at this restaurant having never had our...
Read moreFirst off - PERFECT Eggs. Perfect home fries. Service for the most part was perfect. Just took a while at the end to get the bill but I learned that it was opening day! Seems a select few got some lucky jam gift bags. Well, the two guests before me did. Guess you gotta look local to get one! I LOVE strawberry jam and we typically make a trip to Peggy’s to satisfy our strawberry jam cravings. The jam here is, well, almost on par. That’s saying a lot. It’s good jam. I’d be lying if I said, I didn’t secretly want a jam gift bag to!!
Food would have been 100% if not for the toast. It’s a small thing, but I like my toast, well… toasted. Flavours are better, especially when butter meets the browned crust. Mmmm And doesn’t get soggy with the eggs.. I did get one piece sorta ok toasted but only on one side - the other side was not toasted - and they buttered the un toasted side. Not to my liking. Hey, it’s first day and they likely will fine tuning their equipment and listen to feedback as it does seem that ownership is highly interested and motivated to making this a success. The staff were so great and this new restaurant will be a warm welcomed (and needed) choice for everyone. It’s already my new go to. I’ll remove and redo the review during summer after they have formally opened. Welcome to bracebridge and thanks for setting...
Read moreSince my friends have already left some critical reviews, I wasn’t planning to add another negative one — it didn’t seem fair to give many negative reviews based on one bad experience. However, the recent review by M Harrison essentially accused us of lying, so I feel the need to clarify a few things that they found odd — which we also found odd ourselves.
First of all, we didn’t choose to sit at a dirty table. We were a group of 13 people hoping to sit together, and one of the tables offered to us by the server was dirty. She told us it would be cleaned. That’s fine — unpleasant, but not a big deal. The table was eventually cleaned, but bits of food were still left on it.
Another strange detail is that I was never offered any drinks. I find it odd that the last reviewer claimed otherwise and even multiple a times. While we were there, I saw at least two groups come in. The last reviewer said there were no groups between his party and ours — maybe he was being well taken care of during that period, and that’s great for him, but I know what I saw.
After sitting there for quite a while without being offered menus or any service, I finally stood up to ask for menus. Just at that point, one of my friends lost patience, and we all...
