Saturday September 21, at 3 pm my wife and I went to Natalino to eat. As we entered we asked if the place is open. A gentleman told us yes and called someone from the back to come to serve us.,The waiter/owner or manager came (it seemed he was in charge). He said, we can’t sit in the main area because all tables are reserved and took us to another area in the back even though the first man told him no one is coming before 5pm. After we sat the manager/owner gave us the menus and then came back after few min to take our orders and said we have nothing except pasta. We asked what about appetizer, he said again only pasta or we can leave and come back later at 5pm. Why would you seat the customer, give them the menus and then say you can’t serve anything except pasta?!! We had no lunch so we ordered couple of pasta dishes. At some point a young waiter came to pick up the dishes, served us some water and brought us the bill. The pastas were very ordinary, nothing special or different from any average restaurant. We paid the bill and the 20% tip to the young polite waiter and left. As we were leaving we looked around. Not even one customer was in the main area that the manager/owner said it is all reserved. We found the owner/manager extremely rude and unprofessional. He behaved as he does not care, take it or leave. As we left , I said never again even if this is the only Italian restaurant in Dorval or...
Read moreLovely restaurant in Dorval. Passed by it many times on our walks along the Lakeshore and finally decided to try it. The outdoor eating option on the front covered bacony is really great. It was fun to watch people in their fancy convertible cars drive by while we enjoyed our dinner. The service was great and very attentive. The Minestrone soup was full of seasonal veggies and quite delicious. The calamari was very yummy with that fantastic basil aioli dipping sauce. The fried zucchini was also very tasty. For the main courses, we had the veal parmigiana, the grilled salmon and our kids had the Americano pizza. All the dishes were good and the whole family seemed very satisfied. It was a memorable evening since my husband and I were celebrating our 19th wedding Anniversary. One of the waiters was kind enough to snap a quick picture of us which turned out fantastic. Here's a quick little story...almost 14 years ago, I was about 8 months pregnant with my firstborn and my husband and I were doing our usual health walk along the Lakeshore. I really needed to get to a washroom and the kind staff at Natalino let me do so because of my pregnant state. I will never forget that simple act of kindness. So happy we were able now to visit with both our children and enjoy a lovely meal with the family at...
Read moreStaff: really friendly staff. Nice people. Our main waiter was excellent, very attentive and kind. He made sure that everything was to our liking. That’s something I appreciate a lot.
Ambiance: not very decorated. I think the style, the wood and the lights, makes it warm and cozy, like home. Music Ok 👍🏼
Food: we both enjoyed our antipasti (Mozzarella Di Buffala, Calamaris and Prosciutto with pear) and our main dish. My friend's veal was really tender. I took a Caesar salad extra chicken as I wasn’t too hungry. No complaints, all good.
Drinks: We had sparkling water which was served well with lemon. My friend had Pisco Sour and wanted a little more syrup. She liked it. I wanted something spicy so I tried the “spicy margarita”, passion fruit version… the bartender could do better with this one. The waiter offered me another drink because I didn't like the first one. He suggested the espresso martini which was my first choice. And I liked it so much that I took a second one ;) They chose a good red wine for my friend to accompany her dish. I liked the detail of the waiter offering us to have a drink with him. We had a soho tabasco shooter and it was good! I ordered another round for us. Good way to end our night.
Nice place, nice people, I recommend this...
