Jo's Candy Shop — Restaurant in Eastern Passage

As per previous reviews, "Jo's is the perfect place to stop and grab an ice cream during a walk on the pier" so my wife and I did just that. It was a hot day, we took a walk on the beach and the pier downtown eastern passage and our stop at Jo's Candy Shop was highly anticipated.

There was few patronage when we walked in, just a family of three anxiously waiting for the server to get their ice cream. My wife and I sat down at the bar in front of the person working and discussed what we were going to get out of the list of flavours. Well as we waited another group of people came in and were served immediately after the family of three. "Weird" I think to myself, "surely she must have seen us sit right in front of her. Ok maybe it was a simple mistake." So we continue to wait, certain we won't be overlooked this time.

Can you guess what happens next? You got it! We got served.... Just kidding, we did not and people behind the group which came in after us got served. We're still sitting right up front. I'm trying to make eye contact to drop a hint that, "Hello! We were here first and looking to spend money!" But no, strike three, we were ignored again and at that point it was clear to me, Jo's Candy Shop is not worth my time or money.

If an establishments employees can freely ignore some customers then there is clearly a lack of proper management and...

What a great spot in Fisherman's Cove in Eastern Passage! We stopped in as we heard the battered fish & chips were awesome (they were!) and were surprised to step back in time in their funky candy shop while we waited! We saw candy that we hadn't seen in years! Also while waiting for our orders we took our time lingering over the dessert display case. All desserts are made there and can be ordered ahead for pickup. Candy was not expired yet had a nasty flavour. The Mike and Ike’s were chalky and had a strange texture. We asked the worker and she said it was because of the “humidity” and didn’t accommodate or try to help. We didn’t get our money back or anything and will not be back. Don’t recommend.
