B&A Bakery — Restaurant in Edmonton

So I ordered a cake 3 days ahead and agreed that I will pick up 8:30 AM. I went a few minutes late on pick up day and cake was not ready at all. Guy in the counter said they called me 5 times the day before to let me know, then the cake decorator came out from the back to say they called me twice the day before. First, they were caught with their own lies. Second, they did not left any message at all in my voicemail box. I had two missed call from a 1800 number the day before. Third, not a single sorry from them even if I had to wait more than 30 minutes for the decorator to finish decorating the cake. And fourth, I said the cake is for a guy colleague yet they wrote his name in pink icing. The cake taste great and officemates love it so kudos to that, however, when one is running errand on company time and has to wait unnecessarily then no, i will take my next cake order somewhere else. I was supposed to order two more cake for the following week but change my mind after the experience. I was not impressed with the customer...

Very disappointed, and will not return. I ordered a dozen vanilla cupcakes for a work function days ahead of the pick up date. On the day of pick up, I arrive at the bakery for the 1:00 p.m. pick up time, and the clerks says he tried to call me earlier. I checked my phone, and he had tried to call at 12:15pm, only 45 minutes prior to the scheduled pick up time (and, he did not leave a message). He tells me they "ran out" of vanilla cake batter the night before, so were unable to make the 12 vanilla cupcakes. Instead, they made 6 chocolate ones, and offered me 6 pre-made cake slices from the display. As the function was at 2pm, I felt I could not risk going elsewhere to find something suitable, so had to accept what they offered. Then, they had the audacity to charge me full price for the cupcakes and slices. Not a good way to run a business. I work and live in the area, and will never return there, despite the convenience...

Some of the best European style bakery goods. WHEN I'm in the area I love stopping in to get Coffee (From their neighbours at Tim Hortons) AND Doughnuts (From B&A).

Their baking is much better than Timmy's. It is a hidden gem.

(There was a meat shop next door but they shut down. Too bad I loved getting baking, meat, and coffee all on the strip.

I still stop in when I can). If you want a REAL Black Forest type cake, it is one of the BEST EVER I have had.

(I discovered this place when a customer where I worked sent me doughnuts and baking through Skip the dishes. My wife who worked where I did called to tell me my skip order was delivered... Then asked me who this other woman's name was... And why was she sending me doughnuts and baking).
