The food was really delicious here! My partner and I got the Mussels, Chicken Karaage, Salmon Sashimi, the Feng Roll, the Alaskan Roll, and the Fishman Bowl! I’d say the mussels were good but it was just spicy mayo sauce and wasn’t anything amazing, the Feng Roll we loved as it almost tasted like a takoyaki sushi roll (could’ve been the bonito flakes), and the Alaskan Roll was great but honestly is very similar to Pressed Torched Salmon sushi so nothing mind blowing but delicious all the same! We absolutely loved the chicken karaage and the sauce it came with! The Fishman Bowl wasn’t our favourite but not because it was bad, but just because we realized we’re not huge on mixed sashimi like we thought! So if you like mixed sashimi, then it’ll be your thing! The rice was the perfect texture, and had lots of flavour! The Don Buri also came with miso soup that I thought was pretty delicious and flavourful!

I didn’t give the full 5 Stars as it took pretty long for our food to come out, and it felt like we were getting our food a little bit after people that arrived after us BUT, I will say that they probably just wanted to stagger the food out so that everyone would get parts of their meals, we were just starving as it took about 20 minutes between the rolls and the Don Buri! The staff also seemed new to serving, but they were very kind and even asked for feedback for the kitchen!

TLDR; food was delicious, chicken karaage is a must, service was slow but they are brand new at this time, and we would definitely go back!

Also the pictures were taken on snap so not the greatest quality and the Feng Roll looked so good I forgot to take a picture before we ate...

This place is a Yay! We were looking for a sushi place that took reservations last minute (we called around 5pm, and got a table for 7pm on a Friday night) since some of our other favorite places wouldn't take us. We stumbled upon this place on Maps and it turned out being the best accident. The lady on the phone was pleasant and made sure to ask us if we needed a high chair when we told her we had a child.

We love its location! Very discreet in a neighborhood square, but totally high end quality (the kind you would expect to find if it were downtown). It's not "fast food" sushi at all. The place is lit brightly with clean aesthetics and has the perfect balance of tables to match service quality and food prep time. We didn't feel we were forgotten nor rushed at all. Just perfect.

The menu is clean and easy to read, with plenty classic choices as well as some very interesting ones that will make you come back. We went with shrimp tempura, beef tataki, a few sushi options, a smoked salmon roll, and the miso donburi (at the recommendation of our server).

The quality of the food here is high, as well as presentation. The salmon melted in our mouths and the flavors were spot on. My only wish is that I had a bigger appetite so I could have eaten more!

For hardcore Japanese restaurant goers, sadly there is no bidet in their washroom haha, but this is a small insignificant detail for those wondering.

Would most definitely come back again and try other things on the menu. Feng Donburi, thank you for having us! It was an absolutely pleasure supporting...

I used to love this place but due to a recent incident , I lost hope and trust this place . There's nothing wrong with the food, it is great, it's just the lack of staff unable to cooperate and have alternative options for someone who was facing some personal issues. I ordered uber eats for pickup and unfortunately my car broke down, I called them up and asked if they can cancel the order , since I won't be able to pick it up and neither uber was changing my order to delivery after it was placed.

I asked for couple of alternatives if one of their team members from the restaurant will be able to drop it since it was few minutes drive away form my place , but the girl on the phone said no to all alternatives I was requesting. I even requested to cancel the original order and not charge me for that , and do some adjustment if I were to place another order with delivery option in it, she said no to it as well. The only thing she suggested was to pick up the food after 2.5 hours when they open up the restaurant again , or the manager will deliver it to my place in 2.5 hours , and if that wasn't acceptable to me, they will be charging me anyways.

I know uber was unreliable anyways, since I was chatting to a bot all the while trying to resolve this with them, but I would have expected a bit more from the restaurant itself. I used to order from this place every 2 weeks, but sadly I won't be doing it anymore.

It would be great if you guys had some flexibility and were able to think of helping your customers , in rare...

Feng Donburi received some honorable mentions from a couple of my friends who live in the south side of the city, so my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try. We went with two friends last night and shared most of the dishes. We had the salmon tataki and takoyaki balls to start. We also ordered the fisherman bowl and Feng poke bowl since "Donburi" is in the name of their restaurant (so we thought, it must be good!) As for rolls, we decided on the Feng special and chop chop. The food came out in a timely manner and tasted fresh. Our server was very friendly and came by several times to refill our water glasses. Would we drive all the way from the north side just to dine here? Probably not. Although the food was well prepared, we found that there wasn't anything on the menu that set Feng Donburi apart from other Japanese restaurants. A few items had "Feng" in their names, but you could order the same item elsewhere - it may just be called something different or you may have the ability to customize and recreate the same item. That being said, I think it still deserves a 4-star rating for the reasons above and would be a good choice for those in the area!
