I visited this restaurant the other night and ordered the carne fritas, which made me skeptical as a Latina. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t meet expectations. The ambience and overall look of the place were nice, and our server was kind and attentive. However, when my dish arrived, I chatted with my friend for a couple of minutes before digging in. To my dismay, the carne was cold, as was the yuca, which lacked the crispy texture typical in Latin cuisine. I requested the meat to be cooked medium rare, but it was far from that. While the flavors were present, the cut of meat had excessive fat, which was disappointing given the $34 price tag. The arugula salad had potential but felt unbalanced, seeming like they just placed a whole bunch of arugula on the plate without integrating enough fresh vegetables to enhance the dish. With a virgin mojito, my total came to $44.10, which I felt was not worth it for the overall quality. While the atmosphere was enjoyable, I left feeling let down and felt that even though some latin flavors were present it was not the expectation I had as a latina.

We went here for a birthday and I was pretty disappointed. The portions were very small considering the price. The food was lacking in flavour and quality. Tacos were soggy and hard to eat. Chips and guacamole was majority plantains. The yucca fries were cut so thick that they were inedible. The steak tasted like it had been boiled. There was no nice sear on it. Don't get me started about the service. It was a Saturday so it was busy but we waited ages for our drinks. When the food came out, it was all over the place. They were bringing the wrong food to the table or in one case decided to stand there talking to another server with the birthday girls food in their hand. She got her food last by the way. To top it off, we were forced to tip 20% because of our group size and for what? Crappy food, crappy service and an okay atmosphere? Unfortunately a lot of restaurants are like this. They are new and trendy and can charge a fortune for small portions and gross food. Highly do no recommend going here. 2.5 stars because the drinks were tasty.

We booked my daughter’s 25th birthday dinner at El Corazon, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The service was incredibly slow, and our meals were not delivered at the same time—one member of our group didn’t receive her food until everyone else had already finished eating. We were informed that an automatic gratuity would be added to our bills due to the size of our party whip we were ok with. However, after some of our guests paid and were leaving , they were stopped at the door and told the gratuity hadn’t been added and requested payment creating confusion. On top of that, I was not allowed to see an itemized copy of my bill before paying, which is something I have never encountered at a restaurant before. They also couldn’t combine my daughter’s bill with mine, forcing me to make two separate transactions. The food was just okay—not enough to make up for the poor service and disorganized payment process. Overall, we left very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

Booked this place for our first Valentine’s Day dinner. Appetizers came out in an appropriate time and tasted great. What was truly disappointing was the wait for our entrees. We had to wait 2.5 hours for our food to arrive and noticed the tables around us also did not receive their food in a timely manner. What was frustrating as well was that the entrees came out at different times, we ordered the blackened basa and the El Bistec. The basa arrived 2 hours after we had been seated and I had to wait another half hour to receive my meal. It seems that the timing and communication between the kitchen staff and our server were out of sync and that the restaurant can’t handle a busy schedule. The server had shifted blame saying that our food had been accidentally sent to a different table. The only redeeming quality for this restaurant is that the food was cooked well and tasted good, but would not recommend this place if it’s busy night / major occasion. When I originally booked the table, I was told that we had an hour and 45 minutes to get through our dinner because it was...

Really disappointed.

I booked for a large party to have my birthday party and was super excited to support a new restaurant. Firstly, we were promised a private room, it’s a table hidden behind a curtain. Not the end of the world.

All of our food came out at different times, and I’m not talking like a little bit. Mine came out a FULL 45 mins before the person sitting next to me.

Our drinks sat empty the majority of the night and our table was gross and no plates were cleared until asked.

Then we went to pay, one of our guest asked for 4 people to be together and the manager Ethan refused to do that so she had to pay in 2. Further, she asked for an itemized receipt before she paid to verify what she was paying for and again Ethan denied and was honestly pretty argumentative.

Honestly I expected a lot more of this experience and this was extremely disappointing. I would say although our group was large we’re normally pretty laid back and easy going, our group has multiple current and ex servers and I would say this is subpar at...
