Flirt Cupcakes — Restaurant in Edmonton

UPDATE: The owner personally reached out to me and offered a genuine and heartfelt apology. She did not make excuses, took responsibility and gave me a refund for my cake. I am happy with this conclusion and happy to update my rating. The cupcakes/cake really are delicious!

I ordered a small cutting cake and cupcakes for my June wedding back in April. I corresponded with a woman named Jules, she seemed very nice and receptive at the time. The process was easy and I was looking forward to a delicious cake and cupcakes at my wedding. On their website, the image of the cake I was ordering had some blush pink flowers on it. Beautiful, but not my vision. I asked Jules if they customized those flowers, specifically mentioning in an email that we were going for a neutral/greenery vibe. She said I could supply my own, Easy!

The day before I was picking them up I headed to safeway, bought an entire $30 bouquet of flowers, and drove them to Flirt. I opened the bouquet when I arrived and very very explicitly told the woman receiving them to only use the white flowers and greenery, pointing out the beautiful white lily and other flowers I liked. She was taking notes so I didn't have any concerns. I again mentioned the neutral/greenery vibe and asked them not to use the pink flowers in the bouquet because I thought the color was ugly.

At the time of pick up I was handed a cutting cake with the one white flower surrounded by every ugly pink flower that was included in that bouquet. No lily, no greenery, no remaining $30 bouquet so I could fix it myself. When I was clearly upset and mentioned I didn't want these flowers I was brushed off like I didn't just drop almost $400 on cake and told to "have a good night"

I had to send my parents from out of town on a hunt for white flowers and then had to fix it myself in my hotel room. It's too bad they are delicious, because I will never spend another dime in...

We love Flirt, and cannot say enough positive things about them. Not only does Flirt make incredibly beautiful and tasty cakes and cupcakes, they are top-notch when it comes to accommodating dietary restrictions. When we were looking for our wedding cake (and cupcakes for our wedding guests), we were having a very difficult time finding someone to accommodate our need for BOTH gluten-free and dairy-free (usually it was just one or the other). Enter Flirt Cupcakes to the rescue. The cake and cupcakes were beautifully decorated, designed to reflect our wedding colours and aesthetic. They also were able to deliver the cake and cupcakes to the wedding venue on the day-of and set up the cake display.

The selection was also very impressive - we were able to bring home a Taster Pack which allowed us to try different cake flavours and icing flavours together. We were able to customize to get our favourite combinations - and there were several options available for gluten-free and dairy-free that we were able to add into the mix of flavours we ordered.

Flirt is by far the best alternative we could find for dietary sensitivities, and they were wonderful to work with, and made such amazing baked treats. We will definitely be coming back again, and fully...

I hear great things about this places and was craving cupcakes. The fact that they have gluten free and vegan options I like, which is nice because I find that if I eat regular, it tends to break me out easily. However, I wanted to order online, and as I go to place an order, ordering half-dozen of cupcakes isn't enough for them to deliver apparently. So I add something else to see if that changes. It does, but now the total comes to about $70 and that's without the cost to have it delivered. I think that that is just a scam to get people to buy more; they should be happy with any business I bring. If those that run the store actually read comments, perhaps take it into consideration that any/new business is nice, and I can understand wanting to charge for delivery, but it should depend on the length of drive and I shouldn't be forced into ordering more than I want before it be considered acceptable to deliver. Perhaps in the future, when COVID isn't such a large problem, I will go and buy some instore, but right now, I think it's ridiculous to spend that much money on cupcakes.
