Guac Mexi Grill — Restaurant in Edmonton

Terrible service. Been here 2 times. Gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time for taking over 20 minutes to get to taking my order. The second time walking in there today and the staff was completely inattentive to me, and allowed people in front of me when they were completely undecided about what else they wanted. The people changed their minds and the staff allowed them in front of me instead of taking my order first which would have been the correct thing to do. The lack of care in their faces as I left the establishment is indicative of how little they care. I left and went to mucho burrito for better service and quite frankly a better quality product. Ridiculous how these businesses can open and have poorly trained staff, lacking basic communications ability, with no care in the world for customer service. Never returning to this establishment again. Teach folks customer service. People should be hired for their skill and/or ability to learn— not just because they’ve applied for a job. Letting people know that there will be a wait is a good idea instead of staying completely quiet, having the audacity to communicate to their coworkers and guests in a completely different language rather than the dominant language is a little rude when guests...

When they first opened, the food and portions were fantastic, and I was really impressed. However, it seems like their management has since changed the approach, and now the portion sizes are much smaller. You have to ask multiple times just to get a standard portion, which is disappointing compared to the generous servings they used to offer and what you’d find at other similar restaurants. Not worth the price. Additionally, the quality has really gone down. The chicken is dry, and overall, the food just doesn't taste as good as it once did. As someone visiting from the USA, I’ve had my fair share of burritos—but Guac Mexi Grill in Edmonton absolutely blew me away. I had two burritos (yes, they were that good), and both were packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and just the right amount of spice. The tortillas were soft and warm, the meat was juicy and well-seasoned, and the toppings were super fresh—especially the guac (no surprise there). Every bite was fire 🔥.
