Got there and it took forever to seat us. Waitress left and never came back with menus. When we finally asked for them, the waiter acted as if he didn't see them on our table? "You didn't get menus?" Clearly not. Food was OVERLY PRICED for EXTREMELY SMALL and tasteless portions. The small dishes that come out with the meal wasn't even enough to wet a palate of one let alone the three of us who sat down. I didn't realize the world was running out of kimchi? The rags used to wipe the tables weren't washed properly. I could smell our table and the rag being used to wash the table beside us. Again, how surprising it was to receive such tiny servings - it took 20 minutes for the food to come out! Maybe I'm nit picking because I was already annoyed, but we asked for "Coke" and when you serve me Pepsi and the laugh and insist its "like" Coke and have an attitude that I should accept it is really FRIKKEN RUDE! I asked for Coke, not cola. Know the difference. Frankly, I am a foodie and clearly you don't understand the first thing about korean food, running a business or proper customer service. This place plainly sucked. Anyways, attached a pic. Dumplings were anorexic- if I wanted gyoza, theres a nice Japanese restaurant steps away. The gamja tang bowl is the same size as the rice bowl and my seafood stew was smaller than the rice serving. For $12-$15 prices, totally NOT WORTH IT!

Authentic Korean food with a quiet, subdued atmosphere both in the traditional quiet K-Pop music and the service. I visit this restaurant regularly because there’s flavours and textures that cover the spectrum. Cheese Buldak is a fiery chicken stew that is not only intensely spicy but deeply flavourful. The fried chicken’s crispness is like no fried chicken coating you’ll experience. Each bite is as much an auditory delight as it is a gustatory one. The option for the sweet and spicy sauce is a monumentally great choice. And because of how crisp the chicken is, a moist sauce does little to diminish that signature crunch. Another spicy choice is the classic tteokbokki. A spicy stew containing rice cakes (think the texture of cheese curds) and fish cakes (like wedges of a fish flavoured pancake). And speaking of pancakes, the selection of Jeon, a Korean style savoury pancake is another textural and flavourful wonder. Cracker crisp exterior yields to a soft, almost mashed potato like interior. Whether it’s the veggie, kimchi or seafood options, each give a different comfort to the palate. Hansik is a truly comforting experience. Like finding a long lost Korean family you never knew you had.

Sadly, the quality of food, portion sizes and service have all gone downhill compared to my pre-pandemic experiences at Hansik. And yet, the prices have gone up. This weekend, my boyfriend and I had the $45 lunch "special" along with the japchae noodles. The special included corn cheese, two bowls of rice, banchan, soft tofu seafood stew and beef short ribs. I don't think we saved any money at all by ordering the set, even though they advertised it as a deal. The soft tofu seafood stew had two mussels in it; one of the mussel shells was unopened, making it inedble. In addition, we were surprised that there were no free refills on their banchan (side dishes). One of the hallmarks of Korean eateries is their unlimited banchan. We chose to go to Hansik because it is relatively close to where we live, but we will have to venture further for Korean food next time.

Hansik used to be our favorite Korean restaurant and close enough to where we live - the food was always good until my experience last Friday night - I went to the restaurant to order but debit was down so came home and was told to order thru SKIP - it kept telling me there was no delivery so I called the restaurant and they advised me to order they Uber Eats which I did after having some trouble - I left instructions for the driver to ring the doorbell on delivery but my order was dumped off on the front doorstep - to make matters worse , the Korean fried chicken was absolutely horrible, it tasted funny and was very hard not sure which kind of chicken they used but my mom, son and I agreed it tasted horrible and we did not eat - I called Hansik to offer feedback to the Manager and asked for her to call me but she never did return my call so that says a lot, NEVER AGAIN!!! I left a message for the Manager to call me and she never did - when I called to speak to her about the quality of the Fried Chicken she was absolutely furious about this rating and review, called me a LIAR SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE CALL AND HUNG UP ON ME AFTER ABUSING ME BECAUSE I LEFT THIS REVIEW - PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS ESTABLISHMENT - CUSTOMERS SHOULD NEVER BE TREATED IN THIS MANNER - ZERO...
