KFC — Restaurant in Edmonton

If I could give them a 0 I would, but unfortunately I have to give them at least a 1. Went there this evening, was welcomed by a girl saying “hiii” which I then said hi back and she said hi again.. not welcome to kfc how can I help you etc. Very poor custom service, then was told that none of the KFC’s no longer carry the popcorn chicken share which I had just earlier order at another location but needed another one as we had company over. She argued with me that they haven’t sold them in over 2 years even though I have ordered them there within the last 2 months. And then she was cut off by another employee who continued to tell me they were a “promotion” and were never brought back. I asked to speak to a manger at the window and she then argued with me saying that none of the KFC’s carried them anymore even though I told her I had just ordered them at the other location down there street. Which she then continued to say I was talking about a different size which I knew I wasn’t as me and my family have order them plenty of times before. She then kept asking what location I was referring to so she could call them out. Which shouldn’t matter as I was just looking to order another popcorn chicken and this location was a bit closer to me. This is not the first time I’ve had a bad experience with this location, the food is never cooked properly and is very greasy , Pop never tastes right and fries taste like they’ve been sitting for a while. Also been told In the past they are to busy to make a full bucket of chicken. The employees and managers 99% of the time don’t have good customer service. I’d give KFC a solid 3 out of 5 stars. The food is generally tasty—especially the Original Recipe chicken, which has that classic, crispy seasoning that’s hard to replicate. The sides like mashed potatoes and biscuits are also decent and pair well with the main items. It's a go-to if you’re craving fried chicken and want something quick and familiar.

That said, the quality can be hit or miss depending on the location. Sometimes the chicken is fresh and hot, other times it feels like it’s been sitting too long. Service is also inconsistent—some visits are smooth, while others can be slow or disorganized. Cleanliness varies too, which affects the overall experience.

One notable downside is how greasy the food can be. While some oiliness is expected with fried chicken, there are times when the chicken feels overly greasy, leaving your hands and the packaging slick. It can take away from the enjoyment and make the meal feel heavier than it should.

Portion sizes are usually fair, but the prices have crept up a bit over the years, so it doesn’t always feel like great value, especially if you're ordering for more than one person. Still, the occasional deals and combo meals help with that.

Overall, KFC delivers on flavor but lacks consistency—and the excess grease is hard to ignore. It’s good for a once-in-a-while treat, but not something I’d go out of my way...

Stopped by to order the 2 can dine chicken bucket. The person taking my order was mumbling the whole time. We went to the window and our whole order was done in the span of like 20 seconds. We saw them tossing the food into the box very quickly and then the guy just kinda tossed it to me and shut the window really fast. We drove home and opened the box and everything was cold and really soggy and there was grease dripping through the box AND the bag it came in and left a mark on my seat. Also all the food tasted really old and the chicken skin was soggy and kind of fell off really easily. I'm not sure if I should be asking for fresh next time or what - please avoid this location, I'm pretty sure theres better KFCs not too far from here. I know I gave Popeyes 1/5 stars for forgetting my food, but at least the food is edible and tastes good. Going to this place makes me want to give Popeyes a 3/5, cause if they are a 1/5 then this place...
