Love this place! Was taken there by my brother on a Saturday afternoon for a belated birthday lunch. Wasn't sure how busy it would be but when I walked in I was surprised how vacant it was. There was only one table in there but I had to wait to be seated for an awkward few minutes. I realized during our visit that they seemed constantly busy for take out orders. The decor and ambience is somewhat typical of what to expect for Japanese dining but it was quite lovely. We ordered beef tataki, the super deluxe sashimi combo (30 pcs, salmon, sockeye salmon, tuna, octopus, surf clam, botan-ebi + 3 other types of premium fish), chop chop sushi, unagi and also some dim sum (siu mai and har gow)!! The waitress told us we ordered enough for the both of us and we contemplated ordering more before we settled with what we had ordered and decided we would order more if we felt we needed to. It ended up being the perfect amount for both of us. We thought we might consider dessert but we were not offered anything so unsure if they even have dessert available (would have enjoyed some green tea ice cream or deep fried ice cream of some sort). I did see that they had reasonably priced lunch specials. Can't remember what it consisted of though... All in all I would definitely recommend because of the Japanese and Chinese cuisine available!

Horribly overpriced, sinister portion size and mediocre taste/freshness. My husband and I went there to take out some food for lunch. When I was given a take out menu, I was warned that the price might be a bit different since the pamphlet is outdated. I wanted to get a Chirashi bowl. It was $20.99 according to the menu which I still felt pretty expansive compared to other restaurants I've been to for Chirashi bowls. But later I found out that the actual price of that bowl is $27.99!! That is for 1 bowl of Chirashi. I thought at least the portion size would be generous especially when the price didn't include miso soup or any other sides. But NOPE.. the size was extremely small. Also my husband and I each ordered different set of stuff to take to our work to eat. But they only included 1 tiny cup of wasabi and another tiny cup of ginger. So I ended up taking all the ginger to my work and no wasabi while my husband taking all the wasabi to his work without any ginger. The server also only packed 2 small packets of soy sauce for both of us so we each ended up with 1 soy sauce. How cheap is that? We spent more than $60 and given 2 packets of soy sauce? This place is a joke. Will never return and tell my co-workers, friends and family to go some place else for sushi.

This was the first time I didnt finish the ramen. I think that says a lot. So I wanted Tonkotsu ramen, but I got TonKATSU ramen? According to the menu I got a tonkatsu base tonkatsu ramen On the menu theres two broth bases, tomato and tonkatsu. Now im pretty sure they meant tonkotsu and not tonkatsu, honestly that should have been the red flag for me right there. Definitely not what I meant to get, what I meant to get was the Bbq pork ramen cause im assuming thats what the chashu is. I dont think it would have made much of a difference though. The broth was bad, its comparable to fast food ramen broth. It definitely has that "instant" feel And then the noodles, im not sure how they make it, but when you bite into it, theres an initial gross taste to it. It was really hard to eat even though the consistency was good. And then only half an egg, also not great. The only reason this isnt a 1 star is because I also got the beef donburi takeout which was not too bad. (Even though it looked pretty unappetizing in its appearance) Should have expected this from a fusion restaurant Nagoya? More like Naw, go yeah?

I really enjoy this restaurant and I hope more people discover this little treasure in the North side. I've been going to Nagoya since it first opened and the appetizers, sushi, and ramen has always been my favourite! I haven't tried their entire menu since I like to stick to the same order, but I really enjoy the quality and prices (VERY CHEAP!) of the food :)

I think this place is great for you if you're feeling Japanese/Chinese food, but aren't looking to spend over $100. The quality of the food is utterly fantastic despite it not being the same as places that leaves you with a bill over $100. Just be mindful that the price you pay will also determine the type of food (even though I think they are actually undercharging for the amazing food they prepare!) so kindly give them some slack if it doesn't compare to the fancier restaurants!

Also, the service is always wonderful. I'm not sure how the staffing works, but most of the time I've gone, the female staffing changes and I never usually see the same one agains. Although I have not had too many interaction with the females, I would say that they have always been very polite and patient.

Not sure who the manager is as I am someone who just simply like to enjoy food and be left alone, I have seen the same young male staff that seems to manage the cash register, and he has always been very lovely and provide the most respect to people of any age.

TLDR, great tasting food for a low price (I think they should be charging more because of the quality of the food and service they give!), little treasure for sure in the Northside, 5/5 would recommend...

I was a solo diner from out of town. This was my first time at the restaurant.

I had miso soup and green tea to start. Such a nice way to start a meal. The drink and soup arrived so quickly after I ordered that I had barely removed the bookmark from my book to begin reading while I waited!!

I had barely started my miso soup when the rest of my order arrived. I ordered the tuna tataki and the Joey’s Special spicy sushi roll.

The only disappointing part about the tuna tataki was that there wasn’t a special room near my booth to take the dish after the solid foods were gone where I could hide inside to drink up the rest of the sauce and lick that long dish! I also ordered a spicy sushi roll. As a redheaded Irish girl… I can only conclude that at some point a little leprechaun must have showed up and stolen my Joey’s Special sushi roll because it disappeared so fast!!!

The woman who served me was so happy that the happiness oozed from her pores and the restaurant felt like it existed for the sole purpose of letting her receive pleasure from serving us patrons. I almost couldn’t even read my book… except everything was so nice that I felt totally comfortable to lose myself in the pages and devoured a chapter without coming up for air.

I will go out of my way to visit this establishment again in the future. Next time I won’t go alone… this food and the delightfully calm atmosphere need to be shared.

Thank-you for the food Nagoya sushi. Thank-you for the experience.

(No pictures due to being totally lost in...

Fool me once....

Tried to come here a second time to see if service was better. While I was seated faster during the dinner rush the waitress did not clue into our closed menu's and blank stares that we were ready to order or even bothered to ask if we wanted to order when she got our drinks.

My meal was ordered but missed. I watched as both were keyed into the ipad. I also heard from where we were seated that the kitchen had ran out of miso. After I had gotten my roll I ordered (Which btw the spicy tuna roll was more spicy tuna? paste, disappointed there.) I was told my food was still coming.

After my friend hesitated to eat her Ramen without me as I had only my roll she finally finished hers almost 40 minutes from ordering and we decided to leave. The waitress seemed to act surprised when I said I didnt get my food and she made sure it wasnt on the bill just in case for us.

Restaurants with Ipads should NOT be missing meals. Even if it was hand notes or a waitress remembering it would still be unacceptable. But missing an order on an IPAD is hilariously disappointing.

Between the prices being quite high for the lower quality food Ive had and then this mishap I will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant.

Id rather drive 45 minutes to the south side or find the hassle of parking downtown in rush hour to actually get much better Ramen at many...
