I really enjoy this restaurant and I hope more people discover this little treasure in the North side. I've been going to Nagoya since it first opened and the appetizers, sushi, and ramen has always been my favourite! I haven't tried their entire menu since I like to stick to the same order, but I really enjoy the quality and prices (VERY CHEAP!) of the food :)
I think this place is great for you if you're feeling Japanese/Chinese food, but aren't looking to spend over $100. The quality of the food is utterly fantastic despite it not being the same as places that leaves you with a bill over $100. Just be mindful that the price you pay will also determine the type of food (even though I think they are actually undercharging for the amazing food they prepare!) so kindly give them some slack if it doesn't compare to the fancier restaurants!
Also, the service is always wonderful. I'm not sure how the staffing works, but most of the time I've gone, the female staffing changes and I never usually see the same one agains. Although I have not had too many interaction with the females, I would say that they have always been very polite and patient.
Not sure who the manager is as I am someone who just simply like to enjoy food and be left alone, I have seen the same young male staff that seems to manage the cash register, and he has always been very lovely and provide the most respect to people of any age.
TLDR, great tasting food for a low price (I think they should be charging more because of the quality of the food and service they give!), little treasure for sure in the Northside, 5/5 would recommend...
Read moreI was a solo diner from out of town. This was my first time at the restaurant.
I had miso soup and green tea to start. Such a nice way to start a meal. The drink and soup arrived so quickly after I ordered that I had barely removed the bookmark from my book to begin reading while I waited!!
I had barely started my miso soup when the rest of my order arrived. I ordered the tuna tataki and the Joey’s Special spicy sushi roll.
The only disappointing part about the tuna tataki was that there wasn’t a special room near my booth to take the dish after the solid foods were gone where I could hide inside to drink up the rest of the sauce and lick that long dish! I also ordered a spicy sushi roll. As a redheaded Irish girl… I can only conclude that at some point a little leprechaun must have showed up and stolen my Joey’s Special sushi roll because it disappeared so fast!!!
The woman who served me was so happy that the happiness oozed from her pores and the restaurant felt like it existed for the sole purpose of letting her receive pleasure from serving us patrons. I almost couldn’t even read my book… except everything was so nice that I felt totally comfortable to lose myself in the pages and devoured a chapter without coming up for air.
I will go out of my way to visit this establishment again in the future. Next time I won’t go alone… this food and the delightfully calm atmosphere need to be shared.
Thank-you for the food Nagoya sushi. Thank-you for the experience.

Tried to come here a second time to see if service was better. While I was seated faster during the dinner rush the waitress did not clue into our closed menu's and blank stares that we were ready to order or even bothered to ask if we wanted to order when she got our drinks.
My meal was ordered but missed. I watched as both were keyed into the ipad. I also heard from where we were seated that the kitchen had ran out of miso. After I had gotten my roll I ordered (Which btw the spicy tuna roll was more spicy tuna? paste, disappointed there.) I was told my food was still coming.
After my friend hesitated to eat her Ramen without me as I had only my roll she finally finished hers almost 40 minutes from ordering and we decided to leave. The waitress seemed to act surprised when I said I didnt get my food and she made sure it wasnt on the bill just in case for us.
Restaurants with Ipads should NOT be missing meals. Even if it was hand notes or a waitress remembering it would still be unacceptable. But missing an order on an IPAD is hilariously disappointing.
Between the prices being quite high for the lower quality food Ive had and then this mishap I will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant.
Id rather drive 45 minutes to the south side or find the hassle of parking downtown in rush hour to actually get much better Ramen at many...
