This Restaurant is under a new owner and management . It's at the same location of 66 street. There are many businesses in the same location. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. They do more of catering services and take outs than eating in the restaurant. They have a couple of tables in the restaurant for customers. The cuisine served at this restaurant is from the beautiful green state of Kerala in the southern peninsula of India. It's popularly know as "God's own Country". The food is rich in coconut, vegetables, meat and sea food. The food is moderately spicy. The cooks are from Kerala and the food is very tasty. Cost wise it's reasonably priced. The staff are very helpful and service is good. They also have a snack bar with traditional keral snacks for sale. There is free parking space available. As their price is very competitive they have a good catering services. They also have special offers and this weekend it was different kinds of Biryani ( chicken, mutton, fish, prawn etc). This Biryani is very different from the ones served at all other Indian restaurants in Edmonton. It was very mildly spiced...

I recently ordered takeout from Masalaz and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding.

I opted for the chicken biriyani with chicken 65 and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the biriyani had just the right amount of spice.

The packaging was also well-done, with the food arriving hot and neatly packaged. The portion sizes were generous, and I was able to enjoy a satisfying meal without any hassle.

The staff were also friendly and accommodating, with my order being ready for pickup on time. Overall, I would highly recommend Masalaz restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and convenient meal. The food, packaging, and service were all top-notch, and I cannot wait to order from them again...

Terrible recent experience today. TOTALLY shattered!!!! Ordered special chicken, 2 x masala Dosa to go.. went home only to realize towards the end of our meal that I had a USED BANDAID in my sambhar and I was actually chewing on it. Me and my husband felt really betrayed. As it raises a BIG question on how hygienic and seriously they think about public safety while working behind the line in the kitchen. Spoke with the owner and she couldn't believe that such a thing happened. She apologized and offered me a "Free meal". Well... I seriously feel that it's a health hazard to feed such adultrated food to public where the cooks doesn't care nothing about their customers. There's NO PRIDE in...

Food is extroadinary especially the kerala style paneer buriyani, egg roast, egg fried rice, dry beans , ulli vadai, filter coffee made by chef Remya :) I tried some of their snacks too, they are all good. There are more items I am yet to try and all for very reasonable price. I wont complain about the atmosphere as that's not my criteria when looking for reasonably priced and delicious healthy food, especially with lots of vegetarian options. Will recommend this place to anyone and I will visit more often in the future now that I found this place.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The snacks, particularly the cutlet, were incredibly flavorful and tasty. The Beef Kizhi Porotta and Chicken Biryani were outstanding – perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. It's the ideal place to flavor your day with a wholesome, authentic meal. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking great food and top-notch service! Definitely one of the best South Indian spots in the Edmonton area.
