Nando's PERi-PERi — Restaurant in Edmonton

The FOOD is usually GOOD especially their 🍗 and garlic bread. The customer service is usually good except this one time a few months ago when I ordered the CARROT CAKE and got a nice GIFT inside; as I was eating I tasted something soft like a raisin, it went from a little bit sweet to minty so I was like ok nice twist😊 A few more chews and it wouldn't dissolve. Spit it on my plate and it was A BIG SOFT CHEWING GUM. My stomach instantly felt upset; I went to the bathroom and started throwing up. By the time I informed the staff I was 😭 and shaking. All the staff were quiet until 1 said I'll go call the manager. Manager came and said she is sorry but it's not their fault as they don't make the cake, they order it from outside, and guess how that made me feel😡 (Don't care who makes it, you're serving it, just take responsibility and apologize) I went and got my purse to leave and as I was heading out the door another staff approached me and apologized(sweet) The manager then came back and offered to cover the cost of my meal then and asked if there is anything else she could do, to which I asked if there's anything she think she could do. Had a lovely time at Nandos. The food is absolutely delicious. The way they operate though is new to me in that you have to order at the counter before you sit down then grab your own condiments and cutlery from the side. It's different, very different and unique so don't let it throw you off. You can order the family platters which I highly recommend. You have the option to also have different flavours of chicken. Definitely upgrade to the sharable platters for larger portions. I ask them to put different flavours together in half's or quarters then you can try a little bit of everything. The mango lime chicken was absolutely fabulous. They provide you with all the hot sauces so going with the mango lime or neutral flavours is not a bad idea so you can add the same hot sauce at your table too and not miss out on all the flavours. Be sure to get the peri peri fries you won't be disappointed. If you are sundried tomato lover like myself, Order the salad with some extra on the side. You will love it. My name is Allison and I cant get enough of the food! Ever since I moved to the city I stumbled upon this gem. Nandos is a favorite of mine. I've been to a few locations but none top the service I get from May here! She is fabulous and makes a great conversationalist. I love speaking to her about food and what's being offered. She treats me like a VIP and always tries to make sure I leave happy and get the best bang for my buck. She taught me about the app and about the specials and introduced me to the best sauce combo "Peri Tamer". I've been ordering religiously for the last few months and she has a heart of gold and makes the take out wait worth the while. If ever looking for the best deals and service this location takes the cake and I would totally endorse her to be promoted. She works hard and represents this restaurant with all her being.
