Update: The regular sized tart $20 made up for the first 6 I didn't like too much. It was AMAZING. Everything everyone else raved about. Will return to buy another for sure. Added another star for that tart. I stand by my review of the little tarts though.
original post: I was pretty excited to try out this unique and crazy-hyped up dessert location. The shop is cute and inviting. I ordered an assortment of "OG" tarts to take home. There are the obligatory options to tip of course, I can't remember if it starts at 10 or 15%. Here is my issue with tipping. You don't realize until you get home that they had snuck in 2 dried out tarts in your order of 6. It's pretty obvious. The edges are shrunken into the crust and the tops look pretty unappetizing. I feel scammed, just like every time I pre-tip or tip before tasting and get something I wish I could return. The crust is disappointingly plain, similar to fine graham cracker crumbs. Nothing that makes you go "wow". The filling on the first two (chocolate and plain) were good, not too sweet. Creamy, mostly, and very different if you've never tried Japanese cheesecake. Again, nothing that made me go "mmmm". My 6 year old really liked them, and I'm glad somebody did. The green tea was really sweet for me, probably because it was dried out to the point the centre resembled cake. For about $28 for 6 tarts that were mostly not to my taste - these were just okay - I feel like they're more for looks. It also comes in this stupid box that once unstickered, you have to hug to your chest so the tarts don't slide out while you're walking around and snacking. So bring a bag if you plan on enjoying the neighborhood with these snacks. I also bought a $20 large cheese tart still the fridge... if the kids don't want it I'm tossing it. Portuguese egg tarts are more...
Read moreI was on Whyte Ave and was thinking of going to the Japanese street food place Dorinku Tokyo. While trying to find somewhere to park I came across Pablo Cheese tart and decided to skip lunch and just grab something from here. Pablo Cheese Tart is a chain I believe as when I typed its name into Google I could see several locations across Canada. I went in and decided to go with the original cheese tart and a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate cost $3 something and was a smaller cup, however it tasted good and the temperature was warm but not scalding hot. I was able to enjoy it right away. I really liked that it was served at a near drinkable temperature, I honestly avoid hot drinks as I hate burning my mouth and I often do. The cheese tart was tasty, the crust was not buttery just more of a dryish crust, I found it went well with the filling, though it is a small tart, $2.99 would be a more fair price. Overall, it tasted good and if the price was different, I could see myself buying this to serve at a party or taking a dozen to a friends house. However, given that a dozen of them cost $59 and a single tart costs 4.99, buying a dozen saves you only 0.88. Eighty-Eight cents saved when you buy a dozen of them? Not going to happen. That is a rip off. If you want to go enjoy a single tart and a hot drink and you’re walking around Whyte Ave with friends, then go to Pablo and do that. However, if you want to buy a dozen for when you entertain or when going to a friend’s house? Avoid Pablos. Seriously who can afford this? Like only 11% of Canadians make more than I do and I have no wife or kids, I can not...

The variety they offered was impressive, catering to every taste bud with perfection. Whether you're a classic cheesecake enthusiast or craving something more adventurous like their unique flavored options, Pablo Cafe has got you covered.
What truly sets Pablo Cafe apart, however, is their exceptional service. During my visit, I witnessed something truly heartwarming. A customer expressed concerns about allergies, and without hesitation, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that every ingredient in their cakes was thoroughly checked. It was a testament to their commitment to customer satisfaction and safety.
The attention to detail and genuine care for their patrons left a lasting impression on me. In a world where customer service can sometimes feel impersonal, Pablo Cafe shines bright as a beacon of warmth and dedication. I left with a smile on my face and a belly full of delicious cheesecake, already planning my next visit.
