The food here was unreal. The Nashville chicken sandwich was the best burger I’ve ever had from anywhere. I would highly recommend the food here.
Servers were frequently checking on us making sure we were enjoying our visit and getting everything we needed. They were asking us about how our days and what summer plans we had upcoming. Really positive girls on that team.
Security was so much different than I had expected. You always picture bouncers to be big and mean and hard to talk to, but these guys and girls seemed to be the opposite. They were always smiling and having positive interactions with everyone. They made the place seem so much more friendly than other places I’ve been to in the past where security always seems to be the reason why someone might not enjoy their experience and never want to come back. Even when my buddy was being escorted out for being overly intoxicated, the bouncers tried to make him feel like he was welcome back any time and that he wasn’t a bad guy for having just a little too much fun. They even gave him a hug when he was out of the bar and told him that he was welcome back next weekend.
Bartenders, wow what a good looking group they got there. Great attitude maintained all throughout the night. Even with all the people they are dealing with at once they remain calm and always are smiling for the next customer
All together what a great time we have...
Read moreHad a really outstanding experience the other weekend. There was a girl (they/them) at coat check with pink hair… and the efficiency in which she put the coats up - The elegance. The suave. Most admirable and valiant efforts in hanging the jackets, coats, you name it. Her indefatigably should be an inspiration to us all. I only wish I had her work ethic. I gotta agree with my boy Quinn RB - she goes hard in the paint.
Update: I found my self at the ole saloon yet again. It’s undeniable presence, almost mystical aura… she brings me back for more. I constantly need my next hit of the county.
I had the absolute pleasure of dealing with security, of which all members were professional and knowledgeable in their field. Let me set the scene for you:
You’re walking down whyte. Take a little walk down gateway, a little detour - no problem right? You look to the left, look to the right. Nothing. A good night as per usual… passing by this fine establishment but then BOOM! Some drunken character straight out of looney tunes comes out, fists swinging and all. Who you gonna call? Cook security, that’s who. They take care of business in a timely and orderly fashion WITHOUT THE HASTLE. One of the security’s names was Steve and he truly engaged with urgency, yet a strong sense of professionalism. Stevenator me and the boys call him now. The problem solver. Truly prop er lad. Read moreThis is the best country bar in Edmonton. I have a lot of fun here. Here are the things I have noticed that I would love to see improve. Consider it constructive criticism.
Cover Charge: This is the only bar I've been to in Edmonton that has a $10 cover charge when there isn't a live band. I think $5 would be more reasonable on a typical night if they added on $2 for checking your coat.
Drink Prices: The well drink/highball prices have been raised and are now $6.75 and come in a cheap plastic cup. This is very steep when compared to bars that are footsteps away. Also it seems the prices change depending on which bartender you go to. This is likely a case of them rounding up because they assume you are drunk and won't notice. I would like to see a drink special for doubles like most other bars have nearby.
DJ: The DJ seems to have a standard playlist of classics that he plays every night. It is a good list but please add to it, as that handful of songs is being overplayed. The requests are refreshing as they are more current with today's country music that you would hear on the radio.
Bouncers: When you arrive, you stand in line on the deck with your ID in hand to make things as efficient as possible for the bouncers, and yet they are still abrupt and very assertive. I realize they might feel important by giving orders, but it is unsettling if you haven't been...
