We popped in as we usually pass it by and always said we would try it one day. Friday night date night we popped in - what a great experience! Looks rather unassuming from the outside but very nice inside - a giant mural, tablecloth on tables and friendly faces greeting you.

We had scoped out the menu online and were a little disappointed on not finding the eggplant parmesan on the menu. We decided to start off with the breaded mozzarella and a glass of house red. I decided on the chicken with mushroom and sun-dried tomatoes (comes with penne with marinara sauce) and she decided on the baked gnocchi.

The chicken, mushroom with sun-dried tomatoes was absolutely fabulous. The chicken had a delicious cream sauce (with the perfect blend of seasoning) and penne had a wonderful marinara sauce. Her baked potato gnocchi with tomato sauce was on point with a good blend of flavours. Both dishes arrived in generous portions with an abundance of delicious homestyle flavour! There was plenty on the plate that we took some enough as a snack for later on (I recommend reheating it in the toaster oven for best results)! The house red was a great accompaniment to both delicious dishes. They also serve warm, soft and superbly delicious buns - they're awesome but try not to fill up on them as mentioned before, the portions are generous!!

The owner spent a few moments with each table and it was a pleasant surprise seeing a cross section of Edmonton's diverse cultures. It spoke volumes on quality of the food as it appealed to different age groups and cultures! After the awesome experience, Brioni has found two more fans of their awesome food! I highly recommend giving them atleast one try - you may fall in love with Italian...

Food is Great but the Professionalism over the Phone was Disrespectful, Aggressive, and Completely Uncalled for.

I called to placed an order for pick-up asking for a Dairy Free option of the Chicken Gigi. The woman on the phone insisted this could not be done. Now, I know a version of the pasta dish can be created as I have ordered it in the past. She raised her voice, yelling, stating "this is impossible, I own the business and I would never say it can be done." Yet. I have had it in the past. At one point I commented on her off-putting professionalism and how the sheer volume alone is no way to treat her customers. This threw her into a frenzy with continued aggressive shouting. I could not get a word in edge-wise. At one point she did offer another version of the pasta dish that can be made Dairy Free. Which if this option had been presented at the beginning of the conversation maybe would have been acceptable. Why wasn't this her go-to to begin with? Nevertheless I was so thoroughly disgusted with this woman's demeanor I canceled the order and WILL...

Usually I have had great food and great service but today when I went with a friend the chicken gigi was luke warm at best and the Manager could use some lessons in customer service . Either that or she shouldn't do gift certificates. This isn't the first time she has been abrasive. Maybe she is always abrupt and uncaring but she should take some tips from the other ladies that work there. But I digress ... we should both have said something to the staff as with the chicken being like I said earlier luke warm at best, by the time we got home both of us were in the bathroom getting rid of what we ate. Not a good experience this time and we were there at 11:15 am so the chicken should have been hot!! It will be a rethink if we ever go back. Portion sizes have gone...

I'm not sure why so many people have left good reviews about this place. It's not good, and it's not really Italian. The fact that it was nearly empty on a Saturday night and the dirty menus should have been a warning. The bread was weirdly stale and crispy; I think maybe they were just reheating leftover buns. The tomatoes were underripe and the bocconcini cheese had a weird texture. My partner may have got food poisoning here; he was throwing up the next day. Note: The photos on their website are stock photography; nothing remotely similar to those dishes was served at their restaurant.

Okay I know everyone comes here for the Chicken Gigi...I get it. But PB needs a big shout-out on their $7.50 ($7.88 including GST) SANDWICH!! You can pick from four different breads and at least 4 protein options. Lots of fresh toppings including crispy and fresh lettuce, tomatoes and free cheese (cannot stress enough how important this is, and they do not charge 2 bucks for cheese). The chicken salad is spectacular. Best bang for your buck and a quick lunch. Service is always top-notch here too. Now everyone...back to your pasta.
