Pizza 42 and Donair — Restaurant in Edmonton

This company took an order online from me for $55.88. After waiting for an hour and half the status of my order on their delivery app showed that it was delivered.

Concerned I called the company and the lady apologized that they had no staff to deliver the order. I told her no problem, it would have been nice for them to notify me, but please refund my money and we will go our separate ways. It didn't seem like she knew how to refund the money so she asked me to call back in 15 minutes.

I called back and spoke to a man who proceeded to tell me they could not refund my credit card. Instead, telling me I had to inconvenience myself and come to the store to get a cash refund. The whole reason for ordering delivery is because I could not go to the store.

Bottom line is the company is not willing to refund my credit card for an order that they were unable to deliver in what ends up as them basically stealing $55 from a customer.

Absolutely avoid this place at all costs, I should have read other reviews...

I used to love this place but they are not competent at all and are very shady now. They change their ingredients in dishes all of the time and will send you a dish that isn't like what you ordered before (and I have been ordering from here for 3 years so I know what to expect). They do not communicate these changes at all to their customers either, nor do they care when you use the contact option on their website and reach out to them (as others have said here). They will also send you regular size donairs instead of large donairs even though you paid for large ones and it clearly shows on your receipt. And when you contact them about such an issue, they will give you an attitude and argue back with you even though the proof of payment is clear on your online receipt. This is the worst donair I've ever eaten in Edmonton or at all.

There are a lot of mixed reviews here. I've had donairs all around the city and ordered here twice late night after work. Both times waiting 20 minutes for the food which were both times awful.

The sauce they use is not donair sauce but just mayonnaise, soooo gross! They smear it all over and the donair meat is overcooked and rubbery.

I was so hungry that I ate mostly the meat on the donair but all the while I felt like throwing up. I don't like to waste food because I came from India where some people don't get enough food. I know I won't get recompensed and I definitely don't want any substitution.

I won't be eating here ever again. Twice bitten ...third time definitely avoid forever.
