Fresh and hot, right from the oven, this bakery has some delicious baked goods. The brioche is eggy, fluffy, and as delicious as you'd hope without being overly sweet. The bread was still hot and crackly right out of the oven. They also have a small selection of roast coffees, bottled cold brew, and other coffee related items. A great addition to Riverdale. There's ample parking in the neighborhood.

Wowza!! This place is often lined up... and for very good reason! Small but mighty, this bakery has an impressive selection of breads and treats! Get here early, or you will likely miss out. In the same building as the Dogpatch restaurant, they prepare the breads for both... right from scratch - ingredient by ingredient! The rotation of treats keeps me coming back.

Great bakery. Bread and pastries available at the nice front counter and friendly service. The food is delicious and high quality. My wife and I enjoyed pastries. Parking is a problem so be aware of that. This is in the same building as Dogpatch. Washrooms are available. There is easy access to the bakery.

The premises and the surrounding neighborhood are beautiful. The whole grain sourdough was indistinguishable from a quality white bread with excellent texture; I didn't taste much of sourdough or the characteristic flavour whole wheat. (If that was a mistake by some trainee I'd like to give this place another chance.) Compared to some similar bakeries, I would also say it was about 25% overpriced even if it was a whole wheat sourdough.

The lemon poppyseed twist had fantastic texture and a delightfully appropriate level of sweetness at a very reasonable price, but I found that the flavour wasn't a highly convincing combination with this texture. Apparently it's the bestselling pastry there, so I suggest they try some kind of lemon curd millefeuille or danish and switch to an even more assertive flavour for the amount of crunch in this twist pastry - sharp cheddar, miso, sun-dried tomato with minced olive, dark chocolate, cream-based maple jam, maybe chocolate plus raspberry, many possibilities. (Yeah, I want this thing to succeed.)

Keep...

I hate to leave a poor review for a mostly excellent bakery, but in this case it is warranted. I have been here several times, and always enjoyed the fresh bread, cinnamon twists etc. The location is nice, staff have been friendly and the food great. However- they are doing themselves a disservice by selling gluten free baked goods that are no where near the level of their regular bread. My wife was recently diagnosed with celiac disease, and we thought we would buy some baked goods on Saturday morning. She got what was supposed to be a danish, which was a hard dry cracker like square with some Nanaimo bar filling on top (filling was good). It was gross enough that it totally ruined what was supposed to be a fun little outing.

If you need gluten free goods- take your...
