Let's start with the positives. First and foremost, service is quick, and they carry bottled drinks (yay for Dr. Pepper!). Now onto everything else, and I'll start with the elephant in the room other have commented on: you WILL be overcharged here. I ordered a taco salad ($9), the fancier fries ($4), and then after having been asked multiple times, I also added in a bottled beverage... This supposedly gave me a combo price, but it wound up coming out to about the same as if the bottle was $2.99,and no discount being applied. You don't keep pushing for a combo if there's no discount. Additionally, while somewhat friendly, the staff behind the counter seemed frustrated that I didn't know what I wanted... I had been in the line for fifteen seconds, which doesn't give a person time to read the entire menu! No need to act with a superiority complex full of disdaib towards your customers. As for the food, it wasn't bad, but the shell tasted like its been sitting around for some time, and the fries were definitely showing signs of not being all that fresh (deep fried items shouldn't be soggy and cold...) If you're desperate to have Mexican food, and you can't leave the mall, I suppose it's the only choice available, but if you're willing to drive save yourself the hassle and just go to Mucho Burrito a dozen blocks away from here and have a proper meal that will have leftovers for some or outright fill you up, includes a good bottled drink AND a dessert for about the same price as here, and the food is significantly higher quality. I would recommend avoiding Taco Time here at Southgate Mall because its bland, not that tasty, and rather expensive for what you get.

We used to love Taco Time but this is the second time that we’ve been extremely disappointed. The speed with which the super beef burritos were assembled would have suggested a line of 20 people behind me. I was alone, nobody else waiting. Not a surprise considering the flavour. The young girl slapped the two burritos together in such haste that the curdled sour cream was dropped on the beef in one, concentrated blob. There was some lettuce over all but that only hid the fact that there were only three, bitty pieces of old, grainy tomato and the 5-6 flecks of not real cheese. The best thing about Taco Time was always the sauce. Well, that has changed as well. The sauce was clearly watered down. No flavour, definitely no zing and maybe a couple chunks of onion in the little bucket that is now meted out as if they are precious. If you wanted more (this watered down version eliminates that desire), you pay extra. Brutal, expensive experience. We will find some other food provider that appreciates our business.

Customer Service was really very poor, the girl working the counter was in the back and not paying attention, made us wait and then had an attitude about it? Ordered Mexi fry deluxe, she served up regular mexi fries, so when we asked her to correct the mistake big attitude that we ordered wrong. There’s two of us, we’re quite sure if what we ordered. So then the order finally comes up, undercooked and the toppings were pretty rough, check the photo.

Missed Taco Tuesday yesterday so thought I'd grab a burrito over the lunch hour while shopping at Southgate Mall and have to say I was really impressed with the Customer Service I received from a young, hard working guy named Roberto here on Wednesday May 24th, in the noisy food court. I have a few dietary sensitivities but when I brought them up, Roberto took extra care to confirm the ingredients and ensure I didn't receive any in my meal that would cause a reaction, even going so far as to run to the back and read the list of ingredients on the sauce bottles. And he did this with care, concern and a friendly positive attitude and made sure the food was delicious too! Someone give this guy a raise...
