We bought the $25 for $13 dinner for two Groupon for The Steakout because my family has been looking for our next favorite weekly family gathering pizza place for a few months now, since our pizza place that we had been going to for the last 25 years recently shut down We were really hoping that The Steakout was going to be our new place. We had driven by this place many many times and truthfully wouldn't have ever even thought of trying the place out without the Groupon so I guess it worked to get us in the door. Well it started out good the waitress started out friendly we told her we had never been here before and that we we were here to specifically to tryout the pizza. We asked if we could order the large pizza with the Groupon and she said we have to order 2 items. Ok that's fine, so the coupon did say 2 entree items. Although the large pizza was $25 we each ordered a small deep dish pizza that were $16 Each and drinks as well. We were then shocked and emabarrared buy the treatment of the waitress she proceeded to rant that we needed to a least purchase medium pizza( which were starting at $20 each) I said no way! We could have ordered 2 hamburgers for $12 each and water and not been a problem. Normally when we go to a pizza place we order a large pizza to split between us but trying to not cause an issue we thought it was fair that we bought two $16 dollar pizzas and $10 worth of drinks. So I told the waitress no we aren't going to buy two $20 dollar pizzas and all the drinks we will leave instead. So then she just huffed and stomped away. Then from across the restaurant our waitress and an older grey haired waitress lady proceeded to loudly complain about us and all of the other customers that have ever used Groupon for over 20 minutes. It was so insulting and instead of having a nice enjoyable evening out all we did was listen to this older server complain loudly. Then when the pizzas came out they were so black and burnt I didn't eat mine anyway. It looked like they could have been very delicious if they weren't so burnt (I feel like they did it on purpose to get back at us or teach us a lesson)but by this time after being insulted for 20 minutes straight in front of the whole restaurant I could care less if they were the best tasting pizzas I ever had I just wanted to leave. If the servers had a problem they should give their suggestions to the owner not complain about it loudly to the whole restaurant. I'm presuming a restaurant owner signs up with Groupon to gain more exposure for their restaurant or business and hope to bring in new patrons and that's what it did . They could have possibly had our entire family as new life long patrons but their server's insults are sabotaging it for them. We ordered a fair order that fit with the details of the Groupon and why are the servers taking it upon themselves to go against the decision that the owner made to bring in new business. We will never ever go back to this place and I would not recommend you going here unless you want to...
Read moreWe went in using a Groupon, I had the smoked meat with ceaser salad and potato salad and my husband had the steak and ribs. We let our server know before we had ordered we were using a Groupon for our meal. The service was very slow and I had to ask for a refill on my coffee that had sat empty for 10 minutes. We found our waiter rude and seemed like he had better things to do that wait our table. Once we did get our food it was mediocre. The smoked meat was ok but the bread was soggy and there was no pickle on the sandwich ( which was supposed to be part of it). The steak was nicely cooked but a little chewy and no real flavour to it. We got up and went to the register to pay and as no one had bothered to come by and ask us how our meal was or if we needed anything else the entire time we were there (but he did take our plates away) we waited for someone to get our bill. Once he tallied up our bill and we paid and tipped him and he made a note of our Groupon used he THEN proceeded to tell us that because I had family in the restaurant who was also using a Groupon , even though they arrived before, ordered and ate and left separately from us he won't be letting us use a Groupon the next time. When I attempted to explain to him that we were seperate ( we even sat at different tables) he cut me off and told me that I just "wasn't getting it" and that they don't make any money off of the Groupon so it shouldn't be allowed and won't be next time. The till is also in the main dinning room in full view of other customers. I told him not to worry as there won't be a next time. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone, as my husband and I both left feeling insulted and embarrassed. If there was an issue of me using a Groupon that I PAID FOR he should have let us know well before we had finished our meal and paid...
Read moreThis place has always been in appearance, atmosphere, and qual of fare...totally lacking any semblance of a real, professional restaurant. While some folks who frequent this sad excuse for a restaurant say how the pizza is good, bear in mind that it don't take a genius to put together an acceptable pizza. That said, I certainly wouldn't try any food there again. The orange juice came in a very dirty, mug that had smudges all over including inside and out. Gross. Napkins were paper thin and I was only given one with breakfast. Given that the mug was filthy, I can only imagine the gaggle of unhealthy bacteria were no doubt on all the dishes, utensils, table surfaces, and everything in this joint. I must say you're far better off going to a Roadhouse in a remote location of well...anywhere! Visit this joint at your own risk!! Btw, my breakfast cost me $18 and change. I had to request the very large chunks of potato be properly crisp rather than the slightly warm, pale white, and soft excuse for breakfast potatoes. The only saving grace of this experience was the cook sent back an excellent upgrade of the same plate of spuds! So why not make 'em right the first time??! I told the waiter I shouldn't have to pay for the filthy mug of orange juice. He held the mug (which I had left half full after noticing the obvious grunge on the mug) up to the light for a moment, looked at me sheepishly, and shrugging his shoulders, set it down. No apology. Ya, a real class act of disgusting pretenders to quality. The Steak Out has been weighed, measured,...
