Outstanding family run restaurant. Super clean inside, terrific menu, food is fresh and though it can be busy you can almost always get a table. So nice to come to a well decorated, clean and obviously run with great pride Vietnamese Restaurant. There are others in the area that are pretty darn good but we dont go to them anymore. Why choose good when you can choose great.
UPDATE. Oct 2017. After going to this restaurant weekly since it opened and letting lots of people know about it we went there as we normally do a couple of weeks ago. We always order green onion cakes and a couple of bowls. When we told the waitress that we did not want two green onion cakes just one, she said they could not do that. We asked to her to double check and she came back and said there were two in an order and should could not just do one. (This was not an issue about money,) if she would have said whe could do one but could not change the price I would have been fine, my wife did not want one and I hate wasting food so the out and out refusal to just give us one turned me totally off. We put down our menus, Walked out and will never be back. If they do not appreciate our business, their are plenty of Vietnamese...
Read moreIf you follow any of my reviews, you know pho is my favourite food and I eat a lot it lol. Imagine my delight to see this restaurant opening up literally at the end of my block!
We noticed they finally were open and popped in for lunch. It was busy and the servers were new, but very friendly and very attentive!
I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee which is premade for you. Maybe a little too sweet doe my liking, but it can always be touch and go. We ordered the shrimp cakes and spring rolls to start.
The spring rolls were very large! Great potion size doe the price! I'd never had shrimp cakes before. I was thinking they might be crispy but they weren't - more of an omelette texture. My husband didn't like it but I thought it was tasty and an interesting texture.
For the main course, I ordered the P6 Pho. Tripe, tendon, rare beef in a flavourful broth. It was delicious! The large is a little smaller than other places, but the price was right! I prefer my broth spicy and the server was happy to bring me out a little jar of chili oil.
My husband ordered the beef on rice and he said was absolutely delicious and seemed to be a good sized portion.
I will be...
Read moreA new Vietnamese restaurant on 101 Ave just off 75 Street, it was fantastically decorated inside in black, white, and silver. The large menu had a variety of Vietnamese dishes as well as several others including Chinese and Thai. Our family (including 2 young kids) picked a green onion cake plus the appy sampler plate - everything was delicious but those dynamite shrimp are the bomb! We then shared an order of Pad Thai, Ginger Beef, and a grilled beef Vietnamese sub. The 2.5 year old loved the Pad Thai - perfectly spicy and saucy. The ginger beef was nice and crispy with a tangy sauce. And the sub was on a fresh bun and had a good balance of veggie filings to the meat (although I wish there were more of everything in it). We'll be back, it's awesome to have a place so welcoming to families in a nice environnent and worth fantastic food. Update 2022: Green onion cakes are still fantastic as is the...
