Wendy's — Restaurant in Edmonton

DONT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY HERE!!! I asked for the new sauced chicken strips. When it was handed to me, the chicken strips had not even half a teaspoon of the Buffalo sauce DRIZZLED on top (a little squiggle line of sauce on top.) The chicken strips were not covered or shaken in sauce AT ALL. This happened to my brother at this location too, only he had delivery and couldn't go back to get a refund. Its very disappointing. we've been going to this location for over 15 to 20yrs, and it has since gone downhill with quality of food and staff. I've never made a complaint or a review for this location at all, even though I was given low quality food and low quality service for the past 5 years. I finally had enough paying money for garbage food at this location. The lady at the window today was nice, but for the past 5 years, the staff have been very rude. The chicken strips were mostly dry batter. It looked nothing like the commercial. I've seen other people eating these new saucy chicken strips at a different Wendy's location across the street from a hospital. The strips looked EXACLY like advertised and looked very delicious. This location on 50th Street prepared strips completely opposite even though they were trained to prepare it properly. It was pure laziness, ignorance, cheapness, and lack of respect for paying customers food preparation. It was not a mistake or accident, and they can't even blame this on "new staff still in training." I asked for a refund and was told that's how the strips are supposed to look like, but they took the strips back and fixed it anyway. The kitchen staff went out of their way to prepare it opposite of what they were trained to do. It shows a lack of care and respect and turns people away. I don't feel like it was a good experience, and it makes me question whether I should eat this food now. For the future, I will avoid this location because I will just feel uncomfortable now, and it will feel like more of a hassle than a good fast food experience. I don't eat out often anymore because of the economy lately, and also, many restaurants in and around Edmonton have gone downhill in quality of food and staff. It's not worth it. I prefer to eat at home because things taste better that way. I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt again, but i've been proven wrong yet again. Fast food restaurants aren't what they used to be, so I'll stick with eating at home, and I won't trust how they prepare food over there. I have gone to this location for many years, but the last few years have just gone downhill. So i'm completely finished with that location. Don't waste your money at this location. The same thing is happening at many tim hortons and mcdonalds and Wal-Mart in Clareview area and most of edmonton. It is very rare you find a good quality fast food restaurant nowadays. I won't waste my money any further, and I will let anyone that I know not to go to these...

Wow! Incredibly rude and dishonest manager. She refused to give me her name but another employee told me it was Navjo. I wanted to order chicken strips, they could not understand me over the intercom at the drive thru so they asked me to come to the window. I asked how long the chicken strips had been sitting there, they informed me they had been sitting there for almost thirty minutes! I, of course, asked for a fresh order. After receiving an eye roll from the manager, They proceeded to ask me to pull around front to wait. Realizing, they never asked me what kind of drink I wanted, I tried to go in the restaurant but the doors were locked 15 minutes before closing time. I proceeded to go around the drive thru and after not being able to understand me again, asked me to come the window where I encountered the manager again. Instead of asking me to pay the difference for the combo she tried charging me for a separate order of fries and drink. She was incredibly rude and argumentative even though I had assumed I had already asked for the combo. After arguing with her for five minutes, she tried to charge me the same price again for the fries and drink refusing to allow me to pay the difference for the combo. I was so fed up with her attitude at this point that I told her I didn’t want the food and asked for my money back for the chicken strips. Rather than acknowledging my concerns and finishing up with me, she proceeded to help the next customer in the drive thru. Wow is all I can say! If you do not have the communication skills to deal with a simple, understandable customer concern, then don’t apply to be the manager!!!!! Customer service should be your FIRST concern. I finally got my money back (35 cents short because she could lot obviously do the math) but only by refusing to leave without it. Oh yeah and she also never acknowledged that I was still asking for her name, as if I wasn’t able to find out! How many managers are usually on duty at one time? One, exactly! This place was bad!!! I love Wendy's salads and the salad did taste good as usual but everything else from top to bottom was terrible. First the server couldn't get things right. I asked for 2 large drinks. She said large fries. I repeated myself and emphasized drinks. She still put in large fries. And when I straightened it out she still couldn't give me the proper refund. Oh well didn't care not a significant amount. We ate our salads and we had ordered two frosties for when we were done. Again they only put in one. Oh well. Worst off when I went to the bathroom oh my God was it disgusting! First the toilet paper roll was not in the dispenser but sitting on top of it so this means how many people handled it? How many times had it landed on that filthy floor? And that's what I'm supposed to use?! Then I went to wash my hands... there was a small bucket under the sink that I really had n't paid any mind to. I tried to get the water to turn on it didn't want to come out only in little tiny spurts. Most of the water was going under the sink into the little bucket. I I had a very hard time getting enough water to even wash my hands. Tell me the staff is washing their hands properly with that.. stepped over to the towel dispenser of course had difficulty getting any paper towel and in the meantime I had stepped into what I thought was water that was coming from under the sink but after I don't know what it was. Because it did not seem to want to dry it was greasy and my foot just kept slipping. Soap maybe? I don't know. I complained to the management and I seen them going in with a mop. But what they really need is a plumber! Would never eat in that place again! Makes me sick to think if staff is properly washing their hands. I know I felt like I hadn't.
