Wendy's — Restaurant in Edmonton

Truthfully, Wendy’s is my go-to fast food besides A&W. Today’s lunch visit started off spectacular. An excellent interaction with the ordered taker, Kanwaldeep! Professional, very polite and warm to place my order with. Today, I tried the Single Grilled Cheese combo. I waited a few minutes to dive in as I’ve heard so much about this epic burger. Grilled cheese X 2. With heaps of onions !! I’m in fast food heaven. Sadly, this burger was a let down. I noticed the cheese was only a half slice for the grilled cheese and the onions didn’t show up until the last 1/3 of the burger. Normally, I’d have gone up to the counter but today I was feeling a letdown and decided to share with internetland. No, I won’t order this burger from this location again. I don’t blame the hot line order cook. I hold the management responsible for either not training properly or for the 1st time in the history of Dave Thomas’ foodie emporium, this location is cutting corners. This place used to be one of my favourite places to eat, but it seems like they have switched owners because the burgers have been SIGNIFICANTLY nerfed. I will cut some slack because their apple pecan salad is good, but that doesn’t make up for it. Firstly, the buns are way smaller and don’t have sesame seeds on it now. This might be a minor inconvenience but it further adds onto the nerfs. Secondly, the staff seem to forget to add something onto burgers. Last time I went here (which was a month from writing this review) they forgot to add a tomato slice to my Daves Single. This was very odd considering that on the website for Wendy’s they specifically said that there were supposed to be tomatoes on my burger. So then not putting it on was very concerning for how the staff are trained. The patties are smaller, they lowered how many onions they give you, and honestly, I feel like going to Carls JR is now better for the quality, quantity...

I ordered from here and every one of the four burgers I order were identical (standard toppings) when each one I had customized toppings for my kids. I phoned and spoke to the manager who argued with me that they had made them exactly as I ordered them. I had the burgers right infront if me looking thru them as she continued to argue with me and list out the toppings I had ordered, what she was listing was correct but what was in the burgers was not what she was telling me. She continued arguing with me that they made the burgers correct because the girl who made them was standing beside her, when I could SEE RIGHT IN FRONT of me that they were not as I had ordered them. She suggested I drive them back to her store so she could look at them (I had them delivered). Worst manager, worst restaurant, will not be back and will ensure I tell all about the terrible experience with the manager and food....
