We live in a neighbouring community and heard great things so while on staycation, headed out for breakfast. Since it was hot, and we had our dog with us, we ordered take out to eat in the car before heading out in a road trip.
We ordered a bacon & egg breakfast sandwich and requested tomato & lettuce be added; eggs Benedict w/sausage; a Reuben sandwich panini; a latte, and 2 milkshakes. Total came to $60.
First the breakfast sandwich $6.50: missing the veggies requested. Not a huge deal, but still annoying.
Second, the eggs Benny, “full order” $14.00. Hollandaise was white AF which I’ve never even seen in the powdered form so that was odd. The second thing we noticed about the hollandaise—it was curdled which means it was over cooked as there were chunks in it. No side of hash browns or anything to round out the dish. For the price, even a slice of watermelon would have been nice!
Third, the Reuben “full order” $13.00. It was the thinnest Reuben I’ve ever seen in my life! Didn’t notice any cheese in it, and it apparently had beef & ham, but there was so little of both I couldn’t tell which was supposed to be what meat, and the sauce was odd (pretty sure it was just sriracha & mayo). Same as the eggs Benny, it came with nothing. No chips, no fries, no veggie sticks, no fruit, no salad. Nada!
The latte was average—I could grab the same at a gas station automatic latte machine. The milkshakes—the strawberry one literally tasted like it was just milk, vanilla ice cream with a glob of strawberry jam. Very odd.
Having said all that, the quality was ok, the flavour of the food was just meh—nothing special. We’re disappointed because we really wanted to support local but geez! If you’re charging people $14 for just a sandwich, it better be a good size & the most astronomical tasting one you’ve ever made! Local sub shops charge less & give more!
Sorry, but we won’t be back, which is saying a lot since we visit a local bagel place for...
Read moreThis is one brunch place, I would advise anyone to stay away from. The service is worst and the lady behind the desk is the rudest and irresponsible person I have experienced. They lack responsibility, customer service and empathy towards its customers. We waited for literally 75 mins and the only thing that got served to us was water. Whenever asked for status, we were told the food is on the way and will get in 5 mins but food never arrived. Surprising fact is they were not accomodating for even kids pan cake and we literally waited for 90 mins to get kids pan cake, which is mediocare and not even great.
I get the part of delays when things get busy but this place is not even 50% occupied and the way they responded and treated us was unacceptable and not something anyone would want to experience in a brunch place.
We were hoping atleast the food is great with all the waiting but the quality hasn’t surprised us with the attitude and service we saw. Worst food, service,...
Read moreI usually love this place, love their chai latte and cinnamon buns and baked goods. Me and my dad went there for lunch, and I was looking forward to it as I’ve had good experiences.
The food was ok, the eggs were over cooked, the Hollandaise sauce was sparse, white, and tasted just like lemon juice?
My father got a sandwich and a soup, sandwich was okay but the soup was tasted really funky (the potato one). Both of us agreed there was definitely something wrong with it.
We weren’t looking to get anything for free or anything, but decided to let the server know that the soup tasted a little off. She first interrupted my dad, and then when he said it again she just said “sorry to hear that, your total is blah blah blah”
Honestly, the food wasn’t really the issue, sure it wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t going to deter me from going. The people there however, ruined it and I feel I...
