When I arrived at the Happy Gilmore's, the staff member tending to the chip wagon's window practically shooed me away. Unbeknownst to me, she had an order ready for another client who was walking towards the stand and still a good distance from the chip wagon. She would have had time to take my order before he got to her. She could have said it more politely and with a smile instead of acting like I did something terribly wrong. I almost left. We ordered the pickerel dish and it was subpar. It was cooked in too much batter and it had very little fish under the batter. I found the coleslaw was not tasty at all. I did not get value for our money. The only thing that we thought was tasty were the fries. Although they continue to say they use a thin English batter, it is their own perception, all I received was a thick batter dripping in grease. This establishment doesn't accept credit cards and charges an extra $.50 to use their bank machine. It is not an establishment that I would...
Read moreWell I wish I had a better experience after waiting for 45+ mins (understand its only day 2 of opening). We got the 2 piece Whitefish dinner with poutine on the side, mozzarella sticks, and the double bacon cheeseburger deluxe. The fish tasted good but the batter was very soggy. The poutine was a 2.50 dollar upgrade that was nothing like the picture, hardly any cheese although the fries tasted good. The mozzarella sticks taste like frozen ones, pretty plain tasting. Marinara sauce I'm pretty sure is just bravo sauce. Burger was good, appreciated the toasted bun. Overall the lackluster meals came to 37 dollars or so which I found to be a little on the higher side for the quality. Looking forward to seeing an improvement to make me come back here but as for now I'm sorry to say I probably wont be back except for...

We had the small poutine and had cheesy fries. Large portions, tasty slightly smokey gravy, lots of curds. Because they put the chips, cheese, and gravy on both sides of the clam shell, and then close it up (held together with an elastic) the curds melt deliciously and get really stringy. Yum! The cheesy fries were an interesting change of pace. Did not taste like velveeta or cheez whizz. We'll be back. Not sure if I will try the onion ring...
