When things are going perfectly, any business can get it right. The really good places are the ones that handle bad situations well--and the Curry bowl is no exception. We placed an online order and were told an ETA of 45 minutes. I headed over about half an hour early just incase it was ready and watched a dozen people come and go with their food. Once I had been waiting another 20 minutes past my pickup time I had asked if my order was received. I guess there was some sort of technical glitch and they never had. By this time also due to the sheer popularity of the place--and there is good reason--they had run out of ingredients for one of the dishes we ordered. They asked us to pick something else. Who I think was the owner then offered to completely compensate the meal to us even though a small discount would have been more than adequate. I suspect this guy understands how fragile a hungry customer can be :P. Oh we were beyond hungry when we placed the order.
Anyways, we did get our food along with some bonus deserts. The food was delicious especially the gluten free chocolate cheese cake.
I just wanted to say thank you for making right an unfortunate situation. I know how much this meal cost and when we eat there again I am going to make the tip amount for the full price of the meal that you compensated me for. It was definitely earned along with a customer for...
Read moreI don’t think I’ve had a more horrendous customer service experience at a restaurant before. Immediately after tipping 15% on a $100 bill, our waitress (the bald Caucasian lady) made a sour face and didn’t respond to our good bye greetings. We noticed after stepping out that we were overcharged for the samosas. I kindly pointed this out and requested it to be looked into, and was never met with so much hostility by a restaurant staff member before. We were accused by the bald lady of eating the extra samosa that we were charged for, even though we had no idea we were being charged for it. We had clearly vocalized at the time of ordering that we wanted 1 order of samosas (which came in 3’s) and we were a group of 3, so there was no reason for them to assume we wanted 4 samosas instead of 3. There was no mention of an additional samosa on the menu. How is it our fault that they brought out an extra samosa without us requesting it? Not to mention, the math didn’t even add up. To force the customer to pay for such a meagre error on their end, and try to hide it until it was pointed out, then become hostile when their deceit was brought to light, was comically petty.
We made it clear that there won’t be a next time for us, even though the food was decent (except the rice). Plenty of other great venues in Fernie; this one is...
Read moreThis restaurant is a blast of fresh aroma that exceeded my expectations. Looking almost like a regular home with a sign on it, first thing I noticed upon entering was the smells of delicious dishes. This alone heightened my appetite (which is off as curry is an appetite suppressant). Going to this restaurant with a date who had already been there, I got to try all sorts of interesting dishes that I did not even know existed. The Vetnamese coffee was also quite delicious. The portions were very appropriate and one can feel full without overeating with these meals. The cost isn't bad considering the meal and experience and quality that one can get while eating there. The service is very good and the waitresses were friendly. The Ambiance was also great as this restaurant has lots of nice decoration. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to send their taste buds on an...
