I have never taken the time to review a restaurant before.. I have had plenty of good meals but nothing that I ever felt compelled to review before. Until I ate here.
My wife and I decided to go out for dinner on Saturday night to celebrate our anniversary. We originally intended to go to Yamagoya but when we got there, it was closed until the end of October. So, instead of walking all the way downtown, we decided to try out the steak restaurant a block down. We had heard from a couple friends that it was good but just never bothered to try it before. I think it was an ambiance thing... You know, a restaurant in a strip-mall. In any case, we decided to walk over and give it a try.
Once we arrived, we informed that there were no steaks on the menu now and that it was a burger lounge only. Honestly, a burger for our anniversary dinner??? Good thing it was cold outside and my wife and I didn't feel like walking to find another place. We were sat near the open kitchen and given a run-through of the specials. From that point EVERYTHING was perfect!!! From the music play-list to the incredible food to the service... EVERYTHING was perfect!!!
We started with the Brussel Sprouts - Perfect!!! We shared the Blueberry Bourbon Burger - Perfect!!! Onion Rings and Parm Fries on the side - Perfect!!!
Don't be fooled into thinking that this is just another burger place. The food is truly gourmet. So much care is put into every dish. Even the onion rings... I mean they are next level.
I can't wait to go back again, as there are so many burgers that I want to try like the Spicy Peanut Butter Burger.
Thank you to all of the staff for making our anniversary dinner...
Read moreAs residents of Fernie we like to go out or get takeout about once a week to support our local economy. We had heard the new ownership of Fernie Cattle Company had made significant improvements and we were excited to go try the food. The service was excellent but unfortunately the atmosphere was not the most desirable. The ventilation was not working correctly so it was quite warm and there was a rather large plumb of smoke in the restaurant. We wanted to try out the "sports bar" aspect of the menu by ordering some bar snacks; nachos, wings, and dry ribs. The wings were really delicious and we liked the hot sauce on the side. The dry ribs were nice that they were boneless but I later got to thinking that these were fairly processed so they likely came directly out of a frozen bag and into the deep fryer. The nachos... Oh my... It was like they poured the bottom of the nacho chip bag out on a plate then sprinkled cheese (again not fresh but rather cheese out of a pre-shredded bag), put some tomatoes, and olives with a small bit of salsa and sour cream drizzled on top and brought it to the table. They did not melt the cheese at all. The nachos were served with a large bowl of sour cream but no salsa and no mention of guacamole on the menu. The portion of nachos was very small which was extremely disappointing for the price. We unfortunately left the restaurant still hungry and went to Nevados for some of our favourite munchies. If you are looking for sports bar munchies you are better off to get a huge platter of cheesy nachos at Park Place. The beer was cold, the servers were kind, but unfortunately we will not be back...
Read moreWe were extemely disappointed tonight. We had made a reservation for a family including 2 Adults and 2 children. We came in from another town Only to find out after sitting and waiting 20 minutes to order that they no longer had a kids menu. THEY expected us to pay $35 each for a 5 year old and an almost 2 year old to have a meal. I had to explain to my son that it wasnt his fault for us leaving because they didnt have " kid food" We decided to leave and go to a place where my children were welcome. I will not be returning and I WILL be letting every friend/ family know that their children will not be accommodated. Disgusting. AND I would also like to add that this is not the first time we have dined here and until this time our experience was good and there WAS a kid menu. In response to your comment, I must clarify that you need to get your facts in order before replying so quickly. I was not in the restaurant this december. It has actually been over a year since our previous visit. So I will disgregard your comment, obviously there has been some confusion. As far as the menu debate goes, is it not true that you previously had chicken...
