Blue Diamond Restaurant — Restaurant in Fort McMurray

I have been ordering from Blue Diamond for years, ever since I discovered it when I moved to the Thickwood area. The food has always been on point, so much so that my coworkers all only order from Blue Diamond now. I usually get some sort of large combo for multiple people but tonight I was feeling rundown from being outdoors in the cold all day and felt like ordering soup. With my newly discovered love of SKIP the dishes I had many choices for soup but I thought "I bet Blue Diamond has amazing soup"...

I ordered a Large Wor Wonton soup and an order of deep fried salt and pepper squid. Comfort food for someone who grew up in Vancouver. The soup came in TWO huge containers, the broth probably the most flavorful I've ever tasted, loaded with veggies, chicken, BBQ pork and wontons (most places load up on carrot and onion and skimp on meat). The squid was super tender, exploding with flavor, with just the right amount of spice.

If you haven't tried Blue Diamond yet, get on SKIP the Dishes and order TONIGHT! We're all social distancing, you have nowhere else to be haha. Curl up on the couch with Netflix and enjoy the most delicious Chinese Cuisine in all...

Let me start by saying this... I'm really glad this place isn't out of the way. My wife picked it up on her way home from work, and she probably should've dragged this food behind the car the rest of the way home. That may have infused a little bit of flavour into this overpriced, boring, lifeless, uninspired, less-than-mediocre, "chinese" food.

I honestly can't believe this place has been open as long as it has, serving food that can only be compared to boiled lawn clippings and leather boot straps. In fact, I believe the "ginger beef" may have been cut from the shoulder straps of a WW2 Taiwanese military issued rucksack. At least it was a jaw workout.

Okay okay... maybe the only redeeming quality was the freshness of the vegetables in the drab moo-goo-gai-pan, or the tenderness of the (very scarce) beef in the watery curry... but then again... no.

Would I recommend Blue Diamond? If you've read this far, I don't think I need...

Spent over 160$ got microwaved left over food they didn't sell, gravy didn't taste any thing of gravy it was a soap cardboard mix, i could litterly turn it horizontal like a blizzard from dq it was a harder pudding density. pre frozen uncooked chicken that had jelly like membrane from being frozen.

Soon as I opened my food I immediately called they are open to 11pm tonight I have been calling non stop with no answer seriously avoid eating here!!!!

I have documented photos and WILL!!!!!! Be calling food health and saftey first thing in the morning!!!
