Humpty's Big Plate Diner - Fort Sask. — Restaurant in Fort Saskatchewan

I had a HORRIBLE experience. I visit this location a few times per month and have decided to NEVER return. You lost a valuable customer. I went in for breakfast with my boyfriend and my 8 week old daughter. While I was waiting for my food, my daughter had an explosive diaper (poop everywhere inside her jammies). I took her into the washroom and into the handicap stall (where the change table is located). I had taken her jammies off and her diaper and was faced with cleaning a baby covered in poo and had just started when the LIGHTS TURNED OFF. It was PITCH black. At first I thought maybe someone was inside the women's bathroom turned the light off and that really had me frightened. I started calling out "hello is anyone in here?" I was holding my newborn baby on the change table, in the pitch black - meaning I couldn't see my child at all. I waited for a few moments contemplating what to do! I was going to start screaming for help. My baby had started to scream and cry. Finally I decided to pick up my slippery, naked, poo covered baby and try and make my way to the door. I had to hold a squirmy crying baby against me with one hand (again, still covered in poo) and feel out into the dark as I shuffled my way through the washroom looking for the door. All the time trying not to bump into a wall or stall and trying to hold my poor baby. I was hoping to god I didn't trip, I seriously could have KILLED HER had I tripped and dropped her or landed on her. I was TERRIFIED. I finally got the lights to turn on as I was running my hand over the wall near the motion sensor. I looked at the switch and at that time I realized it was clearly a motion sensor and that the only sensor is outside of the stalls by the entrance to the washroom.

I continued to clean my baby while I was totally shaken up, hoping the light wouldn't go off again, I left the mess of wipes and such in the bathroom on the floor along with her new pair of jammies and got out of there as quick as possible!! I returned to my boyfriend and told him what happened. He was furious. I had poop on me, my breakfast was ice cold and I was so angry/upset so I asked to speak to a manager. A kitchen manager named Raj (not sure if correct spelling) came out and when I told him he just nodded and said okay and then walked away. He didn't even apologize. He did not care at all. I told the waitress and she apologized and felt terrible for me. She told me that I wasn't the only person to complain about that. It had happened before to someone. What if an elderly person or handicap person is using the washroom when the light goes off? They could get seriously injured. Something needs to be done immediately as that is putting people's health and...

I hadnt visited since moving away in '09. But back in my high school years, we regularly spent our spares or skips here. We had no plans Christmas morning and were going to have cold hotel leave outs when we saw that hunptys was open.

The plates were indeed, big. My steak and eggs were flawless, the steak right on target and the over easy eggs just what I needed. My companions bacon and eggs was the same, as asked and offered.

The family operating the place was very friendly and explained they knew they wouldn't make money Christmas morning, but they wanted to have a place for single folks and workers to have a hot meal. I respect the hell out of that.

The only detractor was that I did really miss the old art and accent pieces throughout the space. But all in all, it was a nostalgic and pleasant breakfast with great service and perfectly executed...

I feel like they have no idea how to run a restaurant. The window was being rolled and were seating people in the side that the window was taken out. People were sitting 2 tables away from where there had been glass broken. I had a bad feeling about the place because of that but stayed because maybe the food would be awesome. The manager is very cold and just doesn't seem to care about the customers existence at all. I feel like I was put last after a few others that arrived after me. Why else would I have been the last to have my order taken. The guy in the kitchen was also serving. Seemed kind of weird. The food was just lack luster and I probably will...
