Food was far below average....very disappointing. I used to love Humpty's about 12+ years ago but it's clear that quality has dramatically dropped over the years I have been away.

Kids had spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta was overcooked...mushy. Packaged pasta sauce that tasted like seasoned tomato paste. The meatballs were rubbery and previously frozen. I was surprised when my kids spit the meatballs out until I tasted them.

One child had the kids fish and caesar salad. She loved it.

I had the Eggs Benedict. The hash browns were tasty. The hollandaise sauce on the bene was FOUL. I was nervous to even try it when it came out as it had a slight pale grey/green colour to it (it should obviously be a nice healthy yellow due to the egg yolk). It tasted like a thick bland salty oil. I was told it was made with a powdered mixture. Just disgusting.

I commented on my issues with our meals.

Was given an "oh well" response stating that's how the meals are made.

Prices are more than what they should be for below average food.

We were charged full price for all meals when the bill came. No comment at all about our issues.

I felt the issues with our food should have been addressed. I asked for a reduction in the total bill seeing as several items were not even consumed because of their poor quality.

After what felt like more than 10 minutes  the server came back with an amended bill with one of the kids meals removed off of it.

Go elsewhere unless you're happy with less than mediocre.

I called in an order for pickup and everything was fine. I came to pickup and they ask for who and I said for Hunter and the hostess said “No, we don’t have that. We have one pick up order only.”

As the server was telling me this, 3 old men walk up and step in front of me and and the hostess helps them as if I was never there in the first place. So I just stepped aside at that point and I walked around to the one waitress who was standing right nearby and she confirms there’s no order for me. On the phone they said 15-20 minutes, I gave 30 before arriving. I said to the waitress “okay, is this not your telephone number?” and showed them my call log and she confirmed that was their number. She said “yeah only for hunter” . She heard me in the beginning say pickup for Hunter so why that didn’t click I don’t know.

So, I say “yeah, it’s the traditional eggs benedict.” and she said “yeah :)” and I said “Okay that’s what I’m telling you. I’m here to pick up for Hunter. I’m Hunter.”

She then says “oh. okay” and goes to get it.

Then I pay and ask “can I get the receipt” and the hostess responds “there’s one in your bag” and I had to ask again for my receipt after paying because this is a work expense. I shouldn’t have to be arguing for this.

I get to the car to have the worst breakfast I’ve had in possibly my lifetime. Eggshells in my food, hollandaise sauce was like microwaved gelatine, hash browns where fine but that’s about it.

I was there August 3rd 08:45 am, at the Humpty's restaurant on the Alaska Hwy in Fort St. John. I had just come off a long night shift , I was tired and cranky. I asked her if I could go to a table where I was farther away from other diners ( because of not risking getting covid as a security officer in an essential service) and she graciously agreed. I took table 10. She was quick to get me coffee which I so desperately needed as I would be up all day repacking and going out to a different location where I would do nightshift again running on NO sleep. I ordered the Cowboy breakfast. Two of each, eggs, bacon, Humpty RWA bangers and premium glazed ham. The eggs were done perfectly not too runny. I never liked overcooked bacon but theirs was perfect.I could pick it up and it didn't just crumble when I bite into it. I love their bangers. They taste almost like an Italian sausage with all the spices. The ham was slightly dry but I've certainly seen much worse. I was given a choice of a out 5 different breads for toast. There was what seemed to be endless coffee offered to me. Service was very good. She always seemed to have a smile on her face.i hadn't been there for a long time and had forgot about their food as I've been so busy and tired working long shifts with no time off for about a month. I will definitely be going back. Good job to the waitress I had. Very good customer service. She ought to get a raise. I truly hope that Humpy's knows just what excellent value she adds to...
