Patate Lou-Lou — Restaurant in Gatineau

Do not trust the reviews. We have been going to this place over the course of 3 DIFFERENT OWNERS (13 YEARS) This was the greatest spot we had ever been to for poutines and clubs (hence their motto "roi du club"/ king of clubs) they habe not been the king of anything for years now. Nothing on their menu was ever good except their spicy chicken burgers, routines and clubs. Their hamburgers have always been poor quality, cheap ingredients. Their popcorn chicken, onion rings and hors d'oeuvres type menu items are the most processed, frozen garbage we have ever witnessed. So we have always stuck with our poutines, club sandwiches and what we knew to be consistently good despite the fact that the quality has been slowly changing and deteriorating for years now. Last time we ordered was a few months back. My picky, taste bud deprived 6 year old always loved the popcorn chicken. They used to fill the small brown paper bag. Ordered for the first time in months to find they have cut the amount directly in half AND if that wasnt bad enough had the audacity to actually raise the price for that frozen preprepared, prepackaged, cardboard reminiscent garbage as well. DONT BOTHER TRYING TO PAY THE EXTRA 4 OR 5 DOLLARS FOR EXTRA CHEESE TO TRY TO IMPROVE YOUR POUTINE EITHER! I always got xtra cheese and my husband chose not to... and both were the same, a lot of the time his was actually better. With inflation soaring, price increases would be understandable at this point. But this place has been gradually cheaping out and increasingly ripping people off for a long time now. I took a break for quite a while after being a regular ,2 or 3 times a week for over a decade, loyal customer and this will be our last disappointment with this place. Any positive reviews at this point are suspicious to me because this place should not be rated anywhere close to 4 stars. Shame on the owners for running this successful and well loved establishment...

Patate Lou Lou is my favourite Casse-Croûte for a Club sandwich and Poutine with Lou Lou gravy.

You can design your own Poutine pick your Sauce, Vegetable and Meat. Or you can even have Poutine for dessert.

I like that you can get a Wrap, Submarine or Salad so something to please everyone.

There is also a nice selection of Appetizers including a variety of Wonton Crunch.

The dessert assortment is good with about five different pies/cakes and cookies, at a very reasonable price.

Out front are picnic tables with umbrellas and some bar seating inside. There is ample street parking and a small parking lot off of Rue Du Couvent.

I miss that they no longer freshly bread their own pogos daily anymore. They use to do fresh cut fries and found the fries seemed a little different this time around. On the plus side, they are now open year round. There has definitely been a change in exchanging pleasantries and helpfulness. I hope that this is a current hiccup and changes...

I am giving 1 star rate just mainly because the service is unacceptable! I have waited 30 minutes for a mini poutine and a hotdog. I asked the cashier if my order was going to be ready anytime soon and she responded that "We are very busy because of delivery and pick-up" which is the situation that I understand. However, being efficient and working effectively especially in a fast food restaurant like Patate Lou Lou is very important. I know and I do admit that the poutine is very delicious, but the quality of the product won't justify the terrible customer service that the gentlemen before me, and the family after me experienced today.

Employees must be trained appropriately of basic customer service. I did not even get "Hmm so sorry for waiting! your poutine will be ready anytime soon or Thank you very much for your patience.
