BEURRE SALÉ CREPERIE — Restaurant in Gatineau

Dear Coralie Raynaud Gonsalves; Perhaps I did not make myself abundantly clear when I complained. A. I complained about a mild case of sand in the spinach. I expected you to thank me for bringing it to your attention with a promise that it would be rectified on my next visit. This did not happen. You did not bother to come out of your kitchen to discuss or explain but rather, you have chosen to escalate this matter into a pitched battle about who is right or wrong and your apportioning blame!( to me and my husband of course)! B) What caused me to deliver a 2 star rating is not the matter of grit in the salad but your handling of customers and long time customers for that matter. You need to revise your way of treating customers or your business will suffer.

We have been visiting Beurre Salé Crêperie for several years and have enjoyed and recommended it to many others. However, after our experience today we don't think we will be returning. I have always ordered the Jubilee which has smoked salmon and a crepe filled with fresh spinach. This time however, the spinach was not well cleaned as it was mildly gritty throughout. My husband also found his salad to be a bit gritty as well. When we mentioned it to the server she said she would let the kitchen know. That was that. We were not offered a replacement n'or given feedback until we went to leave and pay our bill. When we brought it up again, the server told us that the cook felt they had sufficiently washed the spinach and salad greens. We felt quite dismissed and that our unpleasant experience seemed of little importance...

Once we sat down the food was delicious, server was pleasant, and venue was super cool.

The bad... First time we tried this place we found ourselves waiting outside the entrance with 5-6 groups and no sign of a hostess. Everyone was confused and tried to self organize on who was there first. We left, it was a mess.

Second time we went and stood at the designated spot where it says please wait to be seated. A waitress brought a debit machine to a table to settle a bill, she walked past us and literally faced away from us while she was waiting for the debit to go through. Then another waitress brought food out to a table, and also ignored us on her way back inside. We were literally standing at the front for 10 minutes. Then a waitress finally acknowledged us, and told us it's was going to be a 25 minute wait, even though there were FIVE empty tables. We decided to leave our phone number and go for a walk. 10 steps away and we decided to go to another place. Get in the car, and start driving to the next destination. It wasn't 5 minutes until we got a call saying the table was ready. We decided to turn back and try it out. Luckily it met our expectations.

The server inside was great, but the staff outside seemed lost and not very eager to be there. They...

The food was alright. Had the Jubilee, and I feel like the smoked salmon portion was minimal compared to other restaurants (and under the salad, which they serve directly on the crepe, had no salmon at all).

It took over an hour to receive our order, I saw an order at another table being mixed up, a table where one plate was brought, but the other individual didn't receive their plate until later.

Also, our coffee order was lost, we had to ask to see why we hadn't received it.

Lastly, you pay before you order, which I find bothersome if you don't have cash on you. I like to tip for proper service, so I gave them an amount without knowing how the service would be. Definitely regret tipping here. Take note that no waitress ever came to our table to let us know the status of our order OR to apologize for the delay. I had to get up and ask why our order hadn't arrived, THEN they apologized.

Do not recommend at all, there are way better restaurants nearby. Service is important when dining out, and they displayed very...
