Boston Pizza — Restaurant in Gatineau

me and my wife just stepped out of the hospital cause my wife was discharged from the hospital after giving birth to our son. so i thought instead of grabbing mcdonalds i thought id pay her a nice lunch (which now i regret) we ordered the boston brutes. personally 4 small slices of meat for a plate costing 13$ is a bit much. id get more meat from a metro or IGA. tho that's not the only complaint i have. the service was mediocre. our waitress didn't pay much attention to anyone. and in the restaurant i saw us. and another group which has 3 kids 2 adults. first approach was typical. but after we told her we were ready to order after asking us is everything okay. we didn't order anything yet only brought in our coke. i only thought she didn't hear us. when she comes around we ordered our "meals" i don't see why those meals took that much time to get it. considering the number of people i saw in the restaurant. at that point i only wanted to leave. but the last part that gave me the last straw is when i asked the bills. i sat up. starting to brace my new born son in his seat. she simply drops the interact machine and the bill on the table and left. i had to punch in my own bill and make myself pay cause i didn't want to wait for her to come around. so yes i know my order number was 0035. i payed 42$ for a meal which was worth around 10$ at a local metro. 42$ in a...

Hadn't eaten at Boston Pizza in over a year. With the kids, we usually go early to skip the rush hour. The waitress provided great service, but unfortunately the food did not match.... The fries were overcooked, Ceasar salad had too much dressing, the chicken nachos were greasy and the salsa was bland. Also tried a long time favourite, the cactus potato...which were deceiving most of the potatoes were flimsy and the spicy mayo didn't taste good. Will not be returning for quite a while.

Update. With restrictions lifting and 2 years later since last visit, attempted to go with the family for diner...a bit later than we usually go around 17:30. When it was my time at the host counter to ask for seating for my family of 5, lack of a friendly greeting and as soon as I asked for a table for 5 was immediately told there was no space. The host did not ask if we wanted to wait for a table and immediately started to talk to the couple behind me not letting me time to ask if waiting was a possibility. Was the first full family outing to a restaurant since covid hit....another...

To be honest, the food is fine and the prices are ok (on par with other similar places). What sets this place apart, though, is the atrociously slow delivery. They quote a time that is itself, pretty reasonable (45-50 minutes), but routinely deliver 25-30 minutes beyond that. As I type this, yet another order is 30 minutes past the estimated time with no signs of arrival. We had forgotten why we had stopped ordering from them, and now just remembered. Order your food WAY before you think you'll want it. Otherwise, the place is ok really. They do need to do something about their delivery though. It's honestly slower than using uber eats, for their own delivery! How is that even possible...

EDIT: Now going on 50 minutes past estimated delivery. Had we known, we would have ordered elsewhere. Dropped from 3 to 2 stars as a result. Just called and the delivery person hasn't even left yet! Decided to cancel the order instead. It turns out it's the delivery service that didn't send enough drivers. That sucks for the manager honestly. Their night is...
