I’m going to start this review off by saying I’m absolutely appalled I am at this restaurants customer service and way of dealing with situations.
Tonight was my boyfriends birthday, and like other special occasions we chose to go to our favourite restaurant, which is Boston Pizza. We have been coming here for years and it’s food and service has always been amazing, but not tonight. We ordered our food and was told to arrive in 25 minutes and it would just be finishing up. We arrived at least 10-15 minutes early to pick up the food and it seemed to be ready, which was great. We took it home (which is about 5 minutes away) and when we got there we found that out food was freezing cold, not cooked, and there were parts of the meal missing. Things happen, so we chose to call and see what we could do about this, and this is when it started to get bad. We were first told on the phone after we asked if we could get them to re-make the food that they could “see if that’s possible” which was a bit off putting but we chose to take it back and talk to the manager in person. The manager was not only RUDE, but very unhelpful. Telling my boyfriend that she would replace our food but they won’t be doing it again, and that she would “incur the cost”. She tried to blame us for coming to get the food late and as I stated before we arrived much before it was close to the 25 minutes they said it would take the food. We got the new food in the car and drove home again, and found that once again one of our meals were almost frozen and uncooked, the fries were cold and the chicken fingers not only weren’t fully cooked but We only got half of them. They forgot half of our dips and other things that went with the meal. At this point I was frustrated so I chose to call them and complain again, and that seemed to be the wrong move. When I called I told them the situation, the girl on the phone was very rude. They asked if we wanted to drive back and get the dips and I told them no, saying that their way of handling this situation isn’t great, and how it’s ridiculous that we had to go through this much to get all this sorted out. She also stated that they hadn’t given us the dips the second time because we hadn’t brought them back with us to exchange even though we never got them in the first place. This was before we realized that our food wasn’t cooked and I ended the call saying “I don’t think I’ll ever be buying from this place again.”
Now here’s the best part. I tried to call back again to get straight to the manager because at this point I wanted my money back for uncooked food and I was done with the situation, to find out that my phone wouldn’t even go through to their restaurant. I thought nothing of it and tried to call one more time because I thought my phone was acting up. However, it was reacting as if someone had blocked my number so I used another phone and it went through just fine! Now, I finally got the manager and she started off by saying that she was super busy and didn’t have time for what I had to say, which was honestly shocking. She would keep interrupting me and wouldn’t let me speak and when she finally asked “what do you want done” I started to answer and have her once again interrupt me. At this point I was getting upset and said “you asked me a question let me answer” and after I told her my situation, everything that had happened she just repeated “I already gave you a new meal and free cake what else do you want” I didn’t ask for a free cake, nor did I want it but somehow that was suppose to make up for an almost 70 dollar meal that I paid for and couldn’t eat. After I told her I didn’t care to hear her excuses she yelled something and then hung up the phone.
I have never dealt with such rude customer service in my life and will never come back to this establishment ever again. I’d recommend if you have attempted to read all of this and got to the end to stay away from this place if you want good food, and nice people. There are so many nicer locally owned restaurants in Keswick that are...
Read moreWe attended for a friend's bday party Sat Sept 17 2022 at approx 3pm until 7pm. The place was not that busy. Service overall was okay but not without issues. When I arrived I ended up going to the bar to buy a pitcher for the table. I tried to get our waitress but she was not around for like 20 minutes.
Drinks didn't get served that were ordered. Plates were served to incorrect people and with incorrectly made orders. One girl was vegan and ordered Spaghetti without meatballs and received the meatballs. The food was pretty good but service took long and a few plates weren't hot.
To our surprise when we received our bills the manager (Mahi Islam) said we were all charged a mandatory %18 gratuity fee. He said that party's over 10 aways get this. When I mentioned that I didn't pay that surcharge for the pitcher of beer I got from the bar he said "you are not allowed to do that. If you grab something from the bar you can't sit with your friends" to which I replied, don't worry I don't plan on coming back and he replied " Good, don't come back"
Real friendly manager! Is that what he teaches his employees? The manager proceeded to grab his business card and give it to me saying "here's my card for your complaint". He sealed the deal for me to write this review. He is also the reason for the 1 star rating. Way to go Mahi!
I just think that all restaurants should be upfront we any mandatory tips/fees. This was reserved ahead of time and never told about this fee. Is this a Boston pizza rule? Is this even legal?
You would think that they would appreciate the business. The place was empty. Now I know why.
I won't be a return...
Read moreWe decided to try Boston Pizza in Keswick tonight so we ordered curbside pickup online. We got to the restaurant pretty much as the order was ready. When you pull in, there's clearly marked parking spots for curbside with numbers for each space. They all very clearly in bold capital font say CALL WHEN YOU ARRIVE and then says STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE.
We call, and they immediately put us on hold. We're on hold just over 6 whopping minutes to the point we almost hung up and called back. During this hold time, 2 other cars pull in, park beside us, and immediately get out and go inside.
They finally take us off hold and ask what we wanted to order. We said we already did, that we are outside for curbside pickup. The woman checks, but can't find our order and says they must have put it under the wrong name in their system before finding it. She then asks if we're going to come in to get it. We tell her that your sign literally says stay in your vehicle. She goes oh, well if you want us to bring it out to you we can do that if you prefer. We said we don't really care, but that's what your sign says. She then goes, I'll bring it out, BUT there's people that I need to check out in store here first so I'll be a few (as in the people that arrived AFTER us that just walked in). So we said forget it and just went inside to pay and pick it up.
Why even bother putting signs in your parking lot saying stay in your vehicle and then act like we're crazy for following that? When we got home the food was all cold, and we live 5-10 minutes away. This was our first time coming to this Boston Pizza, and...
