Yalla Shawarma — Restaurant in Georgina

If I could give this place a negative score I would. What a horrific scenario I experienced with this location. Let me first say that I visited this location while visiting from out of province. And I’ve never had shawarma. I was very much looking forward to it. We placed our order for pickup and this is where the disaster began. We were told 15-20 mins to pick up. We arrived to gather it around 25-30 mins and they hadn’t even started the order. I could understand if the place was busy, it was not. The young owner was talking to the young lady at the counter and seemed oblivious we even entered the restaurant. I inquired about our order, they advised they were just starting it and it should be 15-20 mins. Okay, I get it. This happens at restaurants. So I was okay to wait on my $170 order. After waiting and receiving our food, we left with it and were looking forward to the meal. After arriving home and unpacking the meal we quickly discovered that out of 8 meals ordered, 6 were wrong orders from what we placed. We called the restaurant and asked to speak to the owner. After explaining the situation to the owner, he quickly dismissed us and advised it was packed as ordered. We proceeded to repackage the order and brought it back to the location to show the order was wrong and explain what we ordered. Instantly the owner disputed everything we claimed, telling us we ordered what was in the package. (The owner was not the one who took the order over the phone. ) We continued to dispute this claim by the owner, the owner refused to continue to listen. Often smugly laughing turning away from us and even mocking us. We requested to return the food for a refund, the owner out right refused this request. Stating that the order should have been checked at the counter after it was passed to us. And claimed that it was our responsibility and own fault that we did not unpack the order, to check if the order was correct at their counter. Seriously!?!?! That is your response? That I have to check the integrity of your service, at your counter, after receiving my package of food?!? To wrap up. We did not get a refund, the owner took the food and threw it in the garbage as we were leaving in disbelief and disgust. My family indicated their disappointing food experience and advised we would never return. The owner chuckled and said they didn’t need our business anyway. Sadly, I have still never gotten to experience...

I don’t usually leave reviews, but Yalla Shawarma seriously deserves it. I stopped by for lunch after hearing a few people talk about it, and I’m so glad I did.

I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and honestly, it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The chicken was super juicy and full of flavour — you could tell it was fresh. The garlic sauce was unreal (like I’d buy a tub of it if I could), and everything was perfectly wrapped and not falling apart like you get at some other places.

The staff were really friendly, too. You could tell they actually care about the food and the people coming in. I was kind of unsure what to order and they were patient and explained the menu. Felt more like a conversation than just placing an order.

The portions are big — definitely got my money’s worth — and they even have a bunch of drinks I’ve never seen before which was fun to try. The place was clean and had a nice vibe, nothing fancy, just chill and welcoming.

I’ll 100% be back, and I already told my friends to check it out. If you're in Keswick and craving shawarma, this...

4 stars only because I never give 5...lol This place is the real deal. After having several bad experiences at a local chain we decided to give Yalla Schwarma a try. Very good customer service, refreshing that owners care to speak with their customers. We will definitely be back - probably mostly because of the service. Customer service is SO important and they definitely delivered. The Chicken was unbelievably tender, juicy and flavorful, the rice was hands down better than any other local Schwarma spot. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed 😉

*UPDATE!!!!! 3 weeks later and I'm back for more. Hands down best schwarma in Keswick. Customer service - the BEST in Keswick. From the second you walk in you are greeted and made to feel welcomed. This place is the real deal. Not to mention how I LOVE how much garlic sauce he gives and to add veggies on top there is no hassle like other chains in town. After my second visit, im giving 5 stars now (which i NEVER do!!!) See...
