I moved away and it's a treat to go to Starbucks with the family to catch up at, especially because I worked at the previous location at sunny crest mall and continued to be a Starbucks employee for 4 years after I moved, so normally I love revisiting....usually the staff is wonderful and helpful. Unfortunately I went there today and the service was terrible. The poor new girl on till had no help when she tried to ask how to ring in certain items, then while waiting for our drink the barista on bar kept yelling at her coworkers for items they had already brought her, which was uncomfortable to watch. The barista on bar then swore out loud because there was no caramel sauce, which was right in front of her, then tried to joke it off to the guest to cover her embarrassment. Also uncomfortable. I sat down with my father to enjoy out beverages and were interrupted by somebody yelling "UGH this isn't right" - this was the same woman that was on bar holding a log book, yelling at her coworkers for the whole store to listen to. From a customer service stand point, this looks bad. If you have something to say to your coworker, it's best to do it without guests hearing you embarrass yourself or other employees. It makes the place feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I only found out later that the woman was the manager of the place. For somebody who is managing others...better examples should be set. I know exactly how it feels to be stressed or busy while working at a Starbucks,...
Read moreOrdered coffee to pick up on way to work. Arrived at scheduled time to find door locked and hand written note saying "drive through only". Could see my food and drink order when staff member came out to say I had to go though drive though to get it. Line up in drive through was 20 mins long. When I asked why she couldnt just give it to me she just repeted "drive thorugh only" and locked door. After work when I called to ask what happened I was told by shift supervisor Michelle that they were short staffed and they couldnt't hand out pre-orders because "they would have to do it for everyone". Didn't make much sense as not everyone pre-orders. She also said that they had no control over app so its "not their fault" and we should have gone though drive through and "not their issue if it would make late for work or if coffee cold from sitting for 20 mins". Didn't offer apology or credit. When asked if we could get credit she said maybe if we come through drive through they could she would see what she could do. Will stick to Tim Hortons...
Read moreWas here today and got stuck in the drive through for over 20 minutes. Nobody in the store seemed to understand deployment or how to follow it. They let the mobile orders dominate the time, and put new people in the drive through with inadequate training. Since when does everyone in a 4 person deployment not focus on the one task they are assigned? Thatâs how you catch up the lines and maintain consistency in service.
Seattle needs to seriously reevaluate the manager at this location. If you are not going to invest your time in making it what it should be, step aside and get someone from a larger. Itâs your take over and show the staff how to depend on each other when things get busy.
No offer to recover. Former Starbucks Management...
