A&W Canada — Restaurant in Gibsons

Just popped in for a quick breakfast while we were getting ready to ferry back to Vancouver. Compared to a few A&W locations we frequent, this one was a bit dissappointing. The food itself was fine, but quick, it was not. Perhaps they were understaffed, but it took a while to get their attention, and the order also took longer than we are used to for A&W.

The cleanliness of this location does leave a lot to be desired. The tables were not particularly clean, and needed a wipe down. There was also a few wrappers and cups left. I know that patrons are supposed to put away their own waste but there should be some periodic cleaning from staff.

The washrooms were also not very clean.

Parking was ok, but the lot is small.

All in all not...

I like going to A&W for the beyond meat burger. But recently I was at the Gibsons BC location and was served onion rings as part of a combo that appeared to be days old and refried. And if you like A&W onion rings you know they are among the best. I didn’t realize just how bad this order was until I I took it home and had to throw it away. The next time I was in A&W, I mentioned this to them and they could not have cared less about customer service. Instead of apologizing they demanded a receipt for a $3 worth of fast food from one week ago. They made me feel like I was as trying to cheat. I tried to give A&W a fair chance since there's not a lot of fast food options in Gibsons and have had no problems with A&W's in other locations. The Gibsons location, however, I've had one too many bad experiences that left me with a bad taste in my mouth (literally). Sometimes the food is ok but other times it is inedible. I've been served fries and hashbrowns fried in rancid oil; stale burger buns and food that just generally tasted off. The other day I got a breakfast sandwich and hashbrown. The taste was so off I took one bite and threw it out. I am not a picky eater; however, the bad experiences have turned me so off that I just can't support this...
