Came over on a Friday night, there was a DJ on the floor. We sat downstairs, pretty close to the DJ so it was a bit loud but we didn't mind.
Service started pretty good, however declining throughout the night. I saw our food sitting on the window for at least 10 minutes, my guess was the pretzel wasn't done so they didn't deliver our food to the table. By the time we got our food, they were a little cold. Should have just delivered the ones that were ready to the table first; rather than waiting for 1 food item and letting the whole order gone cold.
I had the cod bites which was good but my husband's burger was meh. The pretzel, it came with a pool of oil on the plate, and pretzel could be cook for a little longer.
Beer was great though.
As the night progressed, the service got worse. Nobody came and ask if we wanted more drinks.. we finished our meal and it took a while for them to clear the table.
They were too busy, putting tables NEXT to us away for a dance floor.
Asked for a check, waited another 20 minutes, never came. We ended going to the bar and pay.
Gave 2 stars because service was decent at first, but our experience was actually close to 1 star.
I'd understand if the place was overwhelmingly busy but, there were a decent amount of staff there, a lot of them were just chatting with...
Read moreWe've been to the 101 many times...it's a family favourite. A couple "fan favourites" include the "hot or not" fried chicken sandwich (my daughter/teen always gets hot - it's not too hot), the fried pickles, and the bahn-mi bowl. My wife orders the veg bahn-mi with no rice and extra veg - seriously awesome (once she ate two!).
The beer is also exceptional - my favourite IPA for the last year has been the Tall-Faller - too bad it's so hard to find in Vancouver! Their Hef is also excellent - wife's favourite.
Staff are always friendly. There's a nice outdoor patio. Some of the deserts change daily but they always have a couple regulars - they never disappoint.
We've also been to the 101 on the odd friday or saturday and will often catch live music that leads to dancing - one of the only venues that can provide this on the coast.
Finally, the place is locally owned - many of the beers have a story relating to the Sunshine Coast.
Love the place, go...
Read moreOn;ly impressive if this is your first time leaving the house in several decades. Decided to meet-up with some friends that I hadn't seen in quite some time, so I was keen to do some catching up. Sadly, our server did not share my ambition, and was excited to have us leave the moment our lunch was finished. The establishment was largely empty at this time, and our conversation was interrupted on no less than six occasions by the server asking if we needed anything else. The burger would only be impressive if you hadn't sampled mustard in your life. We couldn't finish our fries, as they were almost inedible. The beer would be classified as average if you've done any amount of traveling off the continent. The decor is spartan and uncongenial...along with everything else. Molly's might be considered a step down from this Brewhouse, but they will have my business from now on, as everything about the place is unpretentious, and the servers aren't...
