WORTH PULLING OFF THE HIGHWAY FOR! Me and my husband stayed at the campsite close by and chose to come to turning point and it was the best decision! from start to finish it was amazing. the service was top notch! but the food... ON ANOTHER LEVEL! we are foodies so dont judge on how much we ordered ;) we started with the French onion soup and calamari. I have had amazing calamari in vancouver and south africa but the calamari here was the BEST I've ever had! That is no exaggeration. it melted in your mouth! they apparently marinate it over night. a must have when you visit! the soup was just as amazing! we then ordered the baked spaghetti and the pasta toscana. the spaghetti was cooked perfectly! the toscana however was better. We are huge pasta fans and the toscana is what dreams are made of ;) highly recommend!!! then to go we ordered are pizza for our drive home tomorrow. we obviously had to try some though later after dinner and it was the perfect finish to the night haha It was so fresh tasting and homemade! we got the Sicilian and wasn't disappointed! it is so hard to find a restaurant where everything is perfect but turning point has reassured me it is possible! i don't normally do reviews but they earned it! we travel a lot from alberta to BC and we will be making this a usual stop...

We had poutine, french onion soup, and callimari.
French onion soup was passable.
The callimari that has been reviewed and highly praised by so many google reviewers....is an absolute joke. Pretty confident it is just boxed Kirkland brand..... I mean at least hit the food you serve with a microwave before serving it to your guests... How and why this item has been highly recommended by other reviewers are beyond me. If you want over breaded, soggy, cold callimari then this is definitely for you. But it's an embarrassment to serve people this.
The poutine was no better. Cheese wasn't melted, fries weren't cooked. Just a salad bowl, filled with cold fries, cheese, chicken,...slam on some sauce and garnish and serve it, is embarrassing.
I have never been somewhere that the standard was to serve you cold food, with minimal effort, a non existent staff, and to sit and wait for 30min for your bill after asking for it.
All reviews on the 4-5 stars of this restaurant are completely misleading.....I would strongly not waste your time or money on this establishment. You would get a better meal from a 5yr selling hot dogs at a...
Read moreMy journey began early in the morning before the sun had woken. I had embarked on a 7 hour journey from home to find myself in the Turning Point Restaurant. This establishment was easy to find as I was looking for a place to consume my daily afternoon meal.
I was greeted by a young waitress, Hayley, who took my order shortly after arriving. She was very polite, patient, and helpful. Being my first time, I asked for her recommendation. She recommended the fettuccine pasta. I took her advice and was not disappointed.
The pasta was well-portioned and seasoned well. The sauce was creamy and not too salty. To accompany the pasta, a well sized garlic bread made this meal feel complete. The toast was soft, yet had a crispy crust. The meal overall lasted for a short period of time as I engulfed the pasta and garlic bread with pleasure.
However, the pricing of my meal was slightly above average. The price of my satisfaction was $16 before tax and gratuity. I would not be deterred by this factor as my experience was worth the price.
This meal offered both quantity and quality. The service was excellent. I will plan to return in the near future. Thanks Hayley for the great service and the helpful...
