Arvida — Restaurant in Granby

Do not judge a book by its cover. From the outside this restaurant is not much to look at. Inside it is a beautiful space. This is a fantastic restaurant. The dishes are artfully presented. The food is top level. Rosti with salmon was a highlight of five dishes, which were all excellent. Dinner with drinks and dessert was about half the price you would pay for a meal at a restaurant with food, ambience and service at this level in any big city. I was so excited to go here. I had heard wonderful things, but the service was incredibly slow. It took 30 minutes before we had a drink and almost one hour before we got our first appetizer… and they got our order wrong. There were two servers on and the place wasn’t full. We saw other tables arrive after us who got their meals before us. It was upsetting because the food really was delicious. On ne soulignera jamais suffisamment l'importance de la première impression. Malheureusement notre première impression relativement à ce restaurant n'est pas bonne. Arriver 20 minutes avant notre réservation pour 6 personnes à 20h, alors que notre table était prête et libre, nous avons demandés de nous y assoir afin de prendre l'apéro en attendant les 2 personnes qui n'étaient pas arrivés. On a préféré nous demander d'aller prendre notre apéro ailleurs alors qu'il restait 20 minutes avant l'heure de notre réservation. A notre retour, au lieu de s'excuser, on nous a dit qu'on n'avait pas compris que nous étions les clients de 20h. Ce qui est faux puisqu'on nous avait indiqué que notre table était prête. C'est dommage car ce qu'on nous a servi était excellent. Le service était très lent en raison de l'absence d'une employée ce qui serait excusable si plus que 3 tables avaient été occupées par des clients. On y retrourne? Non. Cela nous semblait un point de rencontre intéressant pour qui partait de Montréal et d'autres de Sherbrooke mais l'expérience client a été loin d'être agréable.
