Jackpot Grill & Events Centre — Restaurant in Grande Prairie

My Uncle brought me here years ago saying this was the place for the best steak sandwich in the city. I was not disappointed.

Last night I met someone there and was once again happy with my experience. The service was excellent, the gentleman who spoke to us was friendly and informative, as well as very patient with us (we sat for hours without ordering). Our drinks were perfect and delivered in a timely fashion. When we finally did order (deep fried wontons) they arrived faster than I've ever seen. They were delicious and prepared to perfection.

A few things that stood out most for me on this visit were: When he was describing the menu, he had pride behind his voice; when he described that everything was made in house, he was definatly bragging. An opportunity arose for him to assist me in some networking, I was too engrossed in my conversation to want to leave it and yet he swung by the table and passed my number along. When we finally decided that we weren't hungry there was obvious disappointment (not because we weren't spending more money, but because the food would go unappreciated). I appreciated every moment of my visit!

We too were disappointed that we didn't have the appetite to order dinner and will definatly be back to give those burgers a try.

First time going for an event there, and to be honest I was pretty disappointed. In general I had a good time because of the show, but it was a disorganized mess with the staff. Servers were all over the place with no set table areas, drinks took 25 min, no word of a lie. Then part of our group went to order food and was told they weren’t allowed to, that their was a food bar opening up and the server was told not to take any more orders. Thought umm okay sure, no idea what they mean by a food bar but okay sounds cool. Asked the server but again she had absolutely no idea about anything going on (not her fault she simply was just thrown to the wolves with no answers on anything) waited another half hour until we saw people getting food and investigated and saw the “food bar” ourselves. Simply was a walk up order area. Place definitely needs some serious organization and communication with guests in a ton of areas! Will try a show there again to give it the benefit of the doubt, but don’t have much hope...

We usually order from Jackpot and it’s always amazing. We wanted to do something different and get out for once, so we decided to go to the restaurant for the first time. We called ahead to see if reservation was needed and were told it was recommended so we reserved a time. It wasn’t clear where to go for the restaurant, so walked into the lounge with our kids, and were told right away how to get to the restaurant. Walked around the building to the restaurant doors, walked in and stood there awkwardly waiting for a while while three staff stood there and talked. We decided to leave and eat elsewhere. As we were walking away, down the street, a woman shouted out the door at us, asked if we needed something or something along the lines. We told her that we had a reservation but were ignored so we decided to go else where to eat. It was just very very awkward unfortunately. First time there and wouldn’t feel comfortable going back.
