If there was an option to give negative stars I would. Went here lunch today with a friend. When we arrived, there was a good number of people in the restaurant, but most I’ve already been served their food and we’re eating. The waitress took our food order and waited 25 minutes for it to arrive at the table. I ordered quesadilla with fries and gravy And my friend, a hamburger with Caesar salad. When our food arrived the lady who brought it asked if my friend would like a refill of her iced tea, mine was still pretty full, while she was gone to get the refill I noticed there was a hair in my meal. Upon her return with my friends beverage I informed her of the hair, she said she would have it remade. When she went back to return my meal to the kitchen we heard her tell the staff that there was again another meal with a hair in it. My friend proceeded to eat her meal while I waited, hamburger was dry and her Cesar salad had supper watery dressing. At this point we then finally had our waitress stop back at the table and say my meal was being remade and there would be no charge for the meal, this was the only time we seen her after she took our order until we left the restaurant and she dealt with our bills. The lady who originally brought out our food returned with my “remade meal”, pretty sure the fries were not remade and just sat under the warmer while the remade my Quesadilla and Put it on a new plate. Well, I eat my meal. I had finished my drink and was hoping somebody would come by and offer a refill. Nobody walked by none of the staff. Upon going to pay for our bills I was charged $4 for an iced tea, no refill, and $2.50 for a super small bowl...

My family and I had breakfast at your Grande Praire Alberta restaurant and I must say it was a most disappointing experience.

We were there at approximately 1030 on a Thursday on Feb 15 2024.

The waitress came and offered us menus and took our drink order...so far so good.

We placed our food order when our drinks arrived a few minutes after that.after a LENGTHY 35 minutes later we received our food....this is where we had problems. We were fortunate to FINALLY receive our food in a short 35 minutes.During this time several tables sat and ate while we patiently waited for our food.

My wife ordered bacon crisp....it was best described as being partially cooked on her plate(pig still attached).....my meat lovers skillet arrived(toast showed up about 5 minutes after my main dish)and my food was ice cold!!!!!!!

It was at this point I decided to eat the toast, leave incredibly disgruntled WITHOUT SO MUCH AS AN APOLOGY from your staff or management. And the fact I STILL left a tip after the waitress informed me when I refused a re-do on my food as I did not have the time her response was "we are busy" which shouldn't be in a customer service base industries vocabulary!!!!!

So I can only say that my family and I returning will not happen.

You need to improve this ......small restaurants have a tendency to not last long in GP Alberta......and they go down even faster when they are bad.I would give you NO STARS, but that wasn't an option.

FOOD FOR...

The first time we went to new GP Smitty's was very good. We had an older server and service, waiting time and food was very good. We have been back numerous times after that and have found younger servers very overwhelmed, and last time we went on a Sunday for breakfast, we waited to be shown to table, waited for our coffees, waited to have order taken, waited for our meal and THEN had to wait for utensils! My wife was given a fork and I started using my spoon. When server finally brought utensils, she asked if my wife wanted a knife. She said yes as she was trying to use fork to cut waffles. We haven't been back since and that was in April. We were visiting family in the little town of Sussex, NB this month and our last Saturday there we had a family breakfast at Smitty's. The young lady (only one server waited on our group) was excellent. She started with one table, then next table and completed all 5 tables with no complications or long waiting time. We didn't have to wait long for our meals as well. We were a group of over 32 people. GP Smitty's needs to take lessons from a small...
