My friend and I love to sample different restaurants in town and have had The Office on our list for a while. I've eaten here before off the menu, twice and delightful. We were up for the lunch buffet this time, however, and were not disappointed. To begin with, The Office is located inside the hotel so the atmosphere is one of, "We're here to serve you, to make you feel warm, cozy and welcome." The presentation of the food from salad in little jars to soup tourines and warming bowls added to this feel of, "You're important." That may be insignificant to the average person but when you've had an exhausting week and simply want to forget everything for the next hour and a half while you enjoy a meal and the company of friends ... atmosphere helps that level of calm relaxation come more quickly.
We began with a plate of salad. Myself, a jar of the caprese, a jar of potato salad with slightly cream dilled baby potatoes (a perfect creamy texture and flavour) and a small tossing of Caesar with freshly grated parmesan shavings. All three were extraordinary but I could have quite honestly made a meal out of JUST going back for the Caprese each time! Straight out of Italy! So fresh and delicious!
The soup was minestrone, filling in and of itself, basking in the flavours of two beautiful bay leaves amidst all the vegetables.
The main course options today were rice, vegetables, chicken and pasta based. I'm gluten and dairy intolerant but when I go out to enjoy a special moment like this knowing I'll be able to rest afterwards, I'm prepared to endure the sensitivity repurcussions in exchange for the creamy flavour of such things as three cheese tortellini, cheesy cauliflower and broccoli, manicotti, butter chicken and coconut rice with a side of naan bread. Each bite was perfectly done, not over nor undercooked, flavour enhanced without being dominating.
I was completely plump with contented happiness and hadn't even touched the dessert yet there it stood, smiling up at me in all its wonder. How could I not? Baileys chocolate cake. Warm bread pudding. Some exquisite custard or flan topped with strawberries and grapes (unsure the dessert name but divine!). More cake selections. Sigh. I may nap for a week when I get home but it was worth it, to be sure!!!! I am a lover of bread pudding, having been raised by depression era grandparents. I can honestly say I've never had bread pudding before as succulent as this perfection!
The best part for most of you reading this, perhaps, is the price. $14.99 😳 McDonald's would cost most of you more than this!!!
They are having a Father's Day Brunch tomorrow from 10-2 with a bit more expense as it will have a vastly larger selection, centering around Prime Rib, among other breakfast and lunch options. As such, tomorrow's brunch (Sunday, June 18, 2023) will be $32/plate for adults, I believe. $26 or thereabouts for seniors. $18 perhaps it was for children. I can't quite recall but for the option of a splendid variety to suit everyone, no one having to cook nor clean up and the freedom to choose what you'd like, much worth it, I'm sure. But that's tomorrow.
Today's lunch buffet and each one like it on their regular buffet days, only $14.99. Incredible!
My friend kindly bought for us. I adore her generosity and her kindred appreciation of food.
Jonamie was our server, kind, considerate, efficient and truly seemed to enjoy her position. Christina was the manager, equally respondent to guests' needs and comfort levels.
Go! Enjoy yourselves! Then come back here and tell us...

Cute little dining area. Once in there, you don't feel like you're in the lobby of a hotel; I can assure you that. Our server was amazing, very polite, knowledgeable, attentive, and generous! I ordered the Peach Belini to drink, absolutely incredible, I have only ever had a slushed version. This particular drink came in a fancy chamoagne flute(I could be using the wrong cup name but it was similar) with a fresh peach slice in it. I could become addicted for those drinks hahaha I ended up having 2. My boyfriend ordered the Malibu Sunrise, he thought it was quite tasty!!
For entres I ordered the Pan-seared Chicken, everything on my plate was seasoned and flavored deliciously. I ate everything, a generous portion is also something I don't want to leave out on this review. My boyfriend ordered the Linguine Meatballs, he ate everything as well, with difficulty, pasta is filling but he loved every second of it.
For dessert I ordered the Creme Brule, beautiful presentation, plus tasted great. It came in a huge dish from what I was expecting, definitely recommend sharing it !!
We have already decided what we want to try next time, very good food, and the service is...
Read moreWent for Mother's Day and it was AWFUL.. I believe the experience could have been explarary, however, I think greed got the better of them. They booked the main dining room, plus the ballroom with groups over 6 people. I was with a party of 6 so we were in the ball room. As soon as I arrived to the main restaurant the hist seemed annoyed and told me my best bet was to try the ballroom and walked away. Once i found the ballroom, without any direction from the unfriendly staff, we were told a seat number and told to go find our table. We were seated for half an hour before I finally asked if we could have a waiter take our drink order. Another 10 minutes and someone finally showed up. Another 15 minutes and we got our drinks... and never saw our waiter again.. I guess $38 per person doesn't cover service. We were nearly done our meal before we got the booster chair we asked for. Plates were frequently empty, food was average buffet quality, though there was a large variety of options which was nice. Asked to pay and again waited 15 minutes. If they are going to take on that many guests they should make sure they are...
