Service was good if a bit slow, considering we went during in between lunch and dinner. The inside is spacious and bright. Love the chalk wall! There's also a selection of games.

We ordered the wild mushroom and pickle and bacon pizzas. The crust is on the thicker side and a little bit chewy. Very similar to Pizza Hut crust if you're a fan of that, which I happen to be.

The wild mushroom pizza was a bit of letdown. I'm not sure if they don't put very much truffle oil on, or perhaps it was missed. Neither of us tasted any truffle oil or truffle flavouring at all. My friend is a lot more sensitive to tastes than I am, and she confirmed the same.

I could have used more mushroom, but I think that's likely because of the lack of truffle. The strongest flavour that came through was the cheese, so judging it based on a mushroom/cheese pizza, it's not bad. It just wasn't what we thought it would be.

The pickle and bacon pizza was great although really greasy, much more so than the mushroom pizza. The sour pickle and salty bacon go really well together, and they don't skimp on either of those ingredients. The cheese on this pizza was really nice - crispy and chewy. We would definitely order...

Although the beer was good and pizza wasn’t bad, our first experience at mash was a little disappointing due to confusing company policy. We had a group of 6 - 5 adults and a toddler who needed a high chair. The restaurant is set up with high tops and regular height tables. Unfortunately the regular height tables only accommodate up to a party of 4 but we figured since we were the only people in the restaurant on a Friday afternoon it would be easy enough to add a chair so our toddler could be seated at level with us. The sever didn’t seem to mind but another lady from the back was quick to rush over and point out they cannot move chairs around. We had to awkwardly sit at a high top with our toddler seated in a high chair reaching half way the height of the table. Eventually my husband and I just took turns holding onto our kiddo. In the hour and half we spent there only two more tables were occupied with over 50% of the restaurant still available. It was confusing and difficult to understand why it would be such an inconvenience to accommodate a pretty simple request given how slow they were at the time. Totally understandable if it was a busy day! Probably...

One of the most horrible services we received from a restaurant. One server. Took a while to get a menu and order. At that time there was only 3 people in the restaurant. One had already eaten the other two had ordered there food. It was just 3 of us and we waited over an hour to get our food. Our appetizer we waited over half hour to get and it was cold and not good. We got there at 6:30pm for dinner. We got our pizzas at 7:45pm. We were about to pay our bill and walk out when they said the pizzas were just being sliced. When we got the bill, they didn’t comp anything for having us wait over an hour for our meals. Maybe comp our appetizer or my husbands beer. Not a single thing to try to make the experience better. On top of that I believe they must’ve had an old menu because both my husband and I read $18 for a 14” pizza. Each of our pizzas was $28 and the waitress did not mention that maybe a 14” could serve 2 people because they are quite large. We each ordered a 14” and were hit with a bill of almost $100! Good pizza, terrible service. Needless to say, we wont...

Mash Craft Beer + Pizza, right on Whyte Avenue — a “1” in terms of proximity to the action. I always wonder how places this close to all the busyness do. Today, the room was a little quiet — though it was just after lunch. Maybe they were busy earlier at lunch or will be again at happy hour, so on and so forth. Best part of this stop? The service was really good. Our server was very attentive, asked all the right questions, friendly — clearly not just your average server. Top notch, top marks across the board. We just stopped in for a drink and a bit of people watching — and there was plenty of people watching today. Check the video I’m sharing. But also decided to order a pizza. There were lots of toppings — and with that, the crust can sometimes go a little soggy-ish. I don’t like soggy crust, which is why I usually order well done. Just a tip if that matters to you.

After a long few weeks, decided to head to Whyte instead of our regular spots downtown. Saturdays on the Avenue are fairly nuts with the high energy crowd, and we weren't sure what to expect when we walked into Mash. Thankfully, it was lower key with some golden oldies playlist and lots of light. Simple menu made our decisions easy, and pizzas were out in 15 min or less. The pepperoni and mushroom, topped with rosemary and parsley, really accentuated and complimented the spent grain flavors in the dough. Must have taken some experimentation to find out how to balance the dough! It's a bit lighter on the tomato sauce which is refreshing. Some other places dump sauce full of salt to hide the toppings Beers were good and a decent bargain for the 20oz pours Give it a shot if you're interested in a clean, low key pub vibe
