This used to be one of our favorite places in town. Well that it is now not! My spouse and I came to eat here on a Saturday night after a major downtown event. We were barely greeted at the door and pointed to a table and took ourselves there. This would be understandable if it were a packed house. Someone who was drinking at the bar, suddenly appeared to our table a few minutes later, advising that he was apparently working now. He dropped of menus and took our drink/food order. When the food was dropped off, no napkins or cutlery was to accompany it. We sat at our table without drinks, for about 25 minutes before another server proceeded to come back to see if we wanted another. We sat close to the bar where three servers were in and out of and not one out of three could bother with us or careless. Although, one server did seem to show us attention to tell us it was last call at 10pm. I think that a place closing at 10pm on a Saturday, especially after a busy downtown event is obscene and especially being a gastropub of all things. Once we proceeded to pay our bill, to which my spouse gave a way too generous tip of 20%, they started mopping thr floors and turning off the tvs/lights while we finished up our last paid drink for. This was only at 1002. We felt rushed and when we said goodbye to the server who was mopping the floors, and wished her a good evening, she could not even answer us. The food was disappointing, but it's not like anyone cared to ask us anyway. The food here used to be great, as well as rhe ambience and decor. This place is gone downhill! Someone who serves us should not be back and forth drinking at the bar on shift, this is unprofessional! This individual proceeded to tell us the girl server would again take care of us so he could go back to the bar and drink. The other server could care less. I will never again attend your restaurant, since you clearly don't want...
Read moreSaturday Night, 7:30-8pm. We are the only people in the place, the service was polite to greet us and we saw them at our table twice for the 1.5h we were there. No one asked how the food was they came over and even cleared the table never asked us if we wanted the bill or anything. For food we had spinach and artichoke dip and pita chips, my gal had the buffalo wrap and soup while i had the nashville chicken sandwich. I want to say I usually don't care about servers who never show up so i'll focus on how bad the food was for 58$. The dip was literally just melted cheeses, no flavor just cheese. I could count the pieces of green in it and there is 0% chance it had artichokes, my chicken sandwich was overcooked as well as well no seasoning at all on either the chicken or the breading used. When you hear people only insult white people cooking this is a restaurant that serves it. Just go to popeyes if you want a chicken sandwich or get any kind of dip at a grocery store. If you want restaurant quality food go it's not at this "gastro" pub, Just go to P&Ms or any chain. They don't put any seasoning on anything and just rely on their sub par aioli. Don't recommend anything, don't waste your time or money going here maybe if you're an IPA beer drinker try it out for their taps but otherwise don't eat here. If it was crazy busy and service asked me about the food at the table i would reconsider but a dead place with no service and they couldn't get 1 dish in the whole...
Read moreSo you know when you have been traveling all day, you land at the hotel and all you want is a good meal, a good beer and watch the game? But all you have is that crappy restaurant attached to the hotel that has substandard food, crappy service, hoppy fizz and extremely overpriced? Well that's not Hardrock42....
This is a gem that we stumbled across. First night we found a pub where the food was, well pub like. But this spot? A crazy extensive beer selection both can, bottles and on tap. We had the baked Cappelletti Carbonara and Mastodon Burger which is a bison burger with pulled pork. Both were great! Even the small house salad was really good! The pasta was soooo good... Huge portions as well..
And.... You MUST try the bread pretzels served with two types of mustard. The Mango Habanero mustard should be sold by the barrel full ! So good... Possibly one of the best mustards I have ever eaten.... Order the hot bread pretzels! With a good beer ... To die for!
Wait staff are great! Friendly and helpful! The surroundings are simple, clean and pub like, but the food....
So back for round two... Tonight, two Buddha Bowls! Eating it as we speak...Very good. This place is a gem! Lucky people who stay at the hotel who have access to such a quality restaurant! If I still lived here, I would go to this restaurant even if I wasn't staying at the hotel! It's that good.. Any restaurant that has Left Field beer, I'm there...
Next time I am back, I...
