Wow, what a gem!
I was really surprised by this place. I came here on a Sunday around 1pm. There were only two people working that day, the gentlemen taking the orders I believe was also the cook, he explained that the waitress had not come in that day and that he was recovering from an unexpected rush where he had to take all of the orders and cook all of the food. Must have been pretty hectic! Despite not being the waitress he was very friendly and did an absolutely perfect job of explaining the menu, taking our orders, and making sure to keep our coffees topped up. This guy was better than 90% of servers that I have had at other breakfast places, and it wasn't even his job!
Luckily the food was just as good as the service. I really wasn't expecting much to be honest. I have visited many other breakfast places in the area including The Vienna, Sadie's Kitchen, Breezy Corner, Uptown Grill, Eggscetera, With the Grain, Symposium and the Guelph Airport Cafe.
The food at Goody's is a step up from all of them, if you have a favorite breakfast place in Guelph, I can promise you that Goody's is at least as good if not waaaay better. I had the benedict, the eggs were perfect. The homefries are amazing, so crispy and just perfect. My friend who was eating with me said that this was the best breakfast that we had ever had in Guelph, I agree.
Keep up the great work! I am looking forward to the next opportunity to go out for breakfast in Guelph, I know I'm...
Read moreHighly recommend NOT going here if you value your money. One clubhouse with a side of gravy and a can of iced tea was $30 WITHOUT tip. Waitress was lovely though. Feel bad she has to work for a place that rips off their customers. $4 for an OUNCE of powdered gravy just absolutely FLOORED me. But, you can buy an alcohol beverage for $5. Lol Your sandwich doesnât come with fries either. Half the fries were still hard because they were cut so thick. Sandwich was ok. But, for $30 I could have went to the keg and got a filet mignon. Shame!! I guess I know why your Facebook has reviews turned off.
Edit: since I cannot reply to your reply
Overall, it was a great experience. The ground beef omelette was delicious, as was the Mediterranean Benedict and the ham skillet. The service was friendly enough, the environment was great, and again it was a really good experience. I had a few issues though: -my orange juice cup wasnât filled up a lot. Iâd say it was probably only 2/3 full which kinda sucked. -my skillet, while delicious, was small. I donât know if it was really worth the price of it because it overall wasnât a ton of food. I wish it had been even a little bit bigger. -Hollandaise is $4, which again isnât an issue as it is AMAZING. however, for the size of the skillet and the price, Iâd thought there would be more Hollandaise. Wish thereâd been more.
Weâll definitely be coming back...
