Centurion Coffee — Restaurant in Guelph

Nice place! The Summer Strawberry drink was the highlight for me. I would have it again. I was recommended by a friend to come here.

Food: I tried the egg salad on a sourdough bun, Summer Strawberry drink, and a strawberry cheesecake. I would have the drink again. It was refreshing and full of natural strawberry flavour! It also was not too sweet or too under-sweet. The sandwich was fine, but fairly tasteless. The cheesecake was okay, but I wouldn't buy it again. Maybe it wasn't that great because it was a bit frozen, but also the flavours were a bit disappointing.

Staff: Extremely helpful and kind! Excellent people! 5 stars for the staff!

Type of dining: Indoor and a little bit of outdoor (2 tables). You can also get takeout.

Types of food available: sandwiches, chips, vegan drinks, smoothies, coffees, desserts, but not salads or raw veggies.

Portion sizes: The sandwich was enormous! I ate half and took the other half home for dinner. The cheesecake slices appeared small, but the cheesecake was extremely filling. I was stuffed after eating half of a sandwich and 3/4 of my cheesecake slice. The drink was a good size.

Atmosphere: Quiet enough to do work in. I only saw adults there. Free wifi.

Environmental support: Their packaging is compostable or recyclable.

Store: They sell bags of coffee and compostable mugs. See my pics.

Hours: 7am to 10 pm. Wow! Excellent hours!

Parking: There is lots of free parking!

Washroom: They have a gender-neutral washroom with a handrail for people with disabilities on the side and behind the toilet. See my pictures for more details.

Chairs: Most of them had no lower back support. They did have some couches and sofa chairs with full backs though.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp leading up to the sidewalk on the left side of the restaurant when you are facing it. There were no wheelchair accessible spots that were labeled, but there were tons of spots open right in front...

I come here all the time however my most recent experience was appalling. Last night, I walked in with my boyfriend at 11:45 pm just to order a quick drink for the road and we saw they were closing up shop for the night. That was understandable, so we asked if it was still okay to order/come in as the floor was already mopped to which these two female baristas/cashiers said yes.

After placing my order, I had pulled out my cash in exact change to pay however, the cashier waited to watch me count my change before telling me: “Sorry, I just closed my till.”, without saying anything further, and she just continued to stare at me. I realized she was implying that I needed to pay with another form of payment (debit, credit, etc), however she could’ve been more polite about it. Instead of just staring at me, acting like I was doing a disservice to her by paying in cash in exact change, she could’ve at least asked if I was comfortable paying in another way. If I didn’t have my wallet that wouldn’t have been possible. Instead of creating a scene as it was the end of the night, I decided not to say anything. After paying and waiting for my order, the same barista then CONTINUES to count her till, meaning that she never even finished her till in the first place. Ultimately, the tipping point was really when the other barista made my red velvet milkshake wrong. She added a dark chocolate rim, when it typically gets a red rim (as I’ve ordered it multiple times before). This terrible experience makes me feel hesitant about coming back again. Food/Drinks: They provide cheesecakes from the Cheesecake Factory and they really are the best in the world! Godiva Double Chocolate Cheesecake is my chocoholic husband’s favourite so he highly recommends it Mango Key Lime Cheesecake is so fresh it’s wild! I’m not a key lime or mango fan and I wanted to try something new. Thank gosh I did! It’s so light and fluffy yet filling Classic Original Cheesecake is where you have to start. You can taste the exceptional ingredients without the fancy toppings and appreciate the quality of the dessert Coffee frappe is like a grown up version of the Tim Hortons ice cappuccinos. It’s not overly sweet which is great and you can taste the real coffee inside of it. It comes with whipped cream on top which I usually opt out of The tuna salad sandwich is a dream and by far the best tuna sandwich I ever had in my life! All of the ingredients are so fresh. The portion is huge so it can be shared by two people
