Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Guelph

I love Papa Johns pizza, I do. But the customer service at this location is terrible. They're supposed to be open until midnight. Carry-out is supposed to be until 11:25pm. I ordered a medium cheese pizza at 10:45pm via the website. I show up at 11:15 and the door is locked and the guy in the store clearly sees me but doesn't open the door. I call a few times and it just rings and rings. They also have a voicemail that isn't set up. Why would they allow me to place an order online but not let me pick it up?? Why would the guy in the store not answer the door when he clearly sees me at the door? Every time I get delivery from here it takes forever. I usually only order a small cheese pizza and it takes well over an hour. I live 5 minutes away and they always tell me I am out of their delivery zone so I have to order it through skip the dishes. These are the pizzas that arrived a few weeks ago - the delivery driver was carrying the pizza bag by the corner and clearly...that was a bad idea. He also had to call me 4 different times to find my apartment. It's a small complex. So I complained. And I got no refund. But I was told that they will send me new pizzas, but they can't tonight it's too late. So I get a "credit for my order" on my attached to my phone number. I call tonight, ask to have these pizzas delivered, and shockingly, I only have 1 credit. Did y'all see the pizzas? Both look like they were hit by a bus. So I get annoyed, fine, I order one pizza. And now I am being charged the delivery fee! On top of the tip I'd give the driver (not his fault, I get it). Overview - both pizzas exploded, promised a credit for said pizzas, given one credit, ONLY IF I pay to have it delivered. I hung up; I'm done. And hungry. Who has the number for a competent...

Call me spoiled but the chained pizza places aren't hitting the spot for me anymore or maybe I'm just getting old.

I ordered a 4 topping large and it came out looking great. Decent flavor and good ratio of cheese/toppings/crust. What it's lacking is that bite.

I used to order a lot of chained pizza places such as Papa johns/Domino's pre/during covid and it tasted pretty good for the price. Now I feel they've reduced the flavor and maybe changed suppliers as it doesn't taste as amazing. It's starting to take a turn like most chains do where everything is lacking any flavor.

The staff were super nice and professional. They promptly got my order done and I had zero issues.

For a chained pizza, run of the mill with a mixed crowd day I'd order this but to self indulge I'm gonna have to look elsewhere.
